CruiseLine.com's 2023 Member Choice Awards. We're going to talk about the best lines
and the best ships of the year. Welcome to Cruise Tips TV Unplugged. I'm your host,
Sherry, and we invite you to join our Cruise Loving family as we travel the world creating
Cruise videos and vlogs. In this podcast, we talk tips, tactics, and strategies to help you
make every cruise your dream cruise. So it's a wargest time, is it? It is a wargest time.
I got to pull my tuxedo out of the closet and I see you're already in your evening gown there.
Yes, looking fine. My lashes, my evening gown, also known as my brown t-shirt and my jeans.
Yes, it's cool. I love this time of year, Mr. Cruise Tips TV. Super exciting. It is true.
CruiseLine.com today released the results of their 2023 Member Choice Awards. This is
interesting because you're probably wondering, well, how do they gather the data? This is important.
We want to know, like, how are they making these decisions? Well, it's the CruiseLine.com
members that are making the decisions. Yeah, this is how CruiseLine.com collects this data.
They get it from their members. Yes, exactly. In fact, they get it. The awards come from review
rankings submitted by the members. So when you go on to CruiseLine.com, you can review your
cruise, right? So specifically, if you're wondering where this data came from, it's
from their community, the CruiseLine.com community, from Cruise is taken from January to December
of 2022. We have this whole thing on our website. So we're not going to cover every single thing.
At least I don't think we are, aren't we? Yeah, we're going to go through every category.
All right. Well, if you just prefer to read, then head out to the website and check it out there.
Totally. So what makes this kind of special, Mr. Cruise Tips TV?
But I guess if you're listening to the podcast, you may not want to read.
Yeah, okay. But you can. You can certainly go check out there. You could do that. You could do
that. So you could shut this off and go to the website, or you could do it at the same time,
do both at the same time. Just not while you're driving. All right. So as I was saying, Mr.
Cruise Tips TV, the thing that's cool about this is that this is actually a full year's worth of
member data, right? Because the industry has been back for that entire time. So if you looked at
January through December of 2022, like the industry had fully returned to sailing for the most part.
So I think in a way, this makes it kind of a fair review. And it also, it's a bit more comprehensive,
right? So who do you think was like the pack leader here, Mr. Cruise Tips TV? Who do you think is like
going to be getting best in category on CruiseLine.com? Do you know? Yeah, I'm no, I don't know. But I'm
going to throw my bet out there. You should know you published the press release today.
I don't read these things. You cannot say that. You do sometimes. Sometimes I do. Yes.
Okay. But this was a lot of data. So I did look at what it was and, you know,
fair went from there. Okay. So I actually had to let the back. I actually have an idea.
This would be a good idea for a podcast too. And so I purposefully did not, you know,
cloud my judgment. Oh, okay. That's your excuse. That's my excuse.
Well, you just said something that was kind of important. Okay. No, tell me. Tell me what you
can say. Well, you said something like you said, you had suggested this is a podcast topic. That
is actually true. So I do owe an apology to our Instagram community because just yesterday,
which was, I guess Tuesday, I had done a call for questions on Instagram and said, I'm going to
answer your questions this Wednesday. But we're going to answer your questions next Wednesday
because we, this was very timely and we wanted to get this out. But special thanks to the 20 or so
folks who submitted some cool questions for next week's podcast. So we are going to get to those.
Okay. Yeah. So that said, I know there are a lot of different categories. So I am assuming that
there are going to be awards all over the map. Yeah. But I think the line that's going to come out,
probably with the most wins is Royal Caribbean. You are correct. Royal Caribbean really led the
pack. And in fact, I'm a spoiler alert. I feel like on the podcast, we can do spoilers because
you guys might actually listen to the end. So I can tell you that Royal Caribbean led the pack
in seven categories. So it is, it is true, Mr. Curtis of Stevie. It is indeed true.
All right. Let's get on with it. For those of you though, who don't know what cruiseline.com is,
you need to check out their website. They're amazing. So essentially what cruiseline.com does
is they, it's a, it's a forum and a website to go and to read reviews and tips and photos. And
these are from cruisers who are actually going on the ships coming back and writing down verified
reviews, right? So they make sure that you've actually been on the cruise when you come back and
write a review, they're legit verified reviews, which is really cool. You can also shop for cruises
there. You can jump into their community and you can also download the shipmate app. Most of you
probably already have shipmate app and know what it is and have already found us on there and have
added us as a friend. But if you haven't, you definitely want to check it out. And one of the
coolest things too, about cruisline.com, if you're new to their website is they have this thing
called a price alert where when you search for a cruise, you can check this little box called
price alert, right? And then they'll email you when your cruise price changes. And that way you
can let your travel agent know, hey, I'm seeing a little change in my price. Can you check it? Can
you re-fair it for me? It's a really cool feature. You know, that was such a glowing presentation
of cruisline.com. I feel like I need to say this is not sponsored because it's not. No, it's not.
All right. Want to get on with it, Mr. Cruises TV? I do. I've got all the envelopes ready.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Member Choice Awards.
So I think at some point we should actually get on with it. Sounds good.
Let's do it. The first category folks is best cruise line overall. So best cruise line overall
was taken from the highest member rankings of top performing cruise lines of the year. So
we are going to go over mainstream premium luxury and river cruises in this category. So
let's start with the best mainstream cruise line. Are you ready? I am ready. You know, I'm going to
stall for just one more second here. Stalling. You're not stalling.
Do we have an idea of the sample size? Do we are talking about that? How many members
were spotted? No, it's not in here. Okay. Just curious. I mean, they have a ton of
period large. Yeah, period large. I'm not sure about that. But if you were to go to their website,
there may be a little more data about that. I don't think that the sample size is not listed
in the press release. And I think that's probably because it varies. So,
yeah. So I mean, since you're talking about just the ratings, right, the highest rated
ship or whatever it may be, it just depends on what people submitted. So all right. So the best
mainstream cruise line was awarded to Royal Caribbean and they received an average score of 4.39.
So when you think about like you're going in and you're rating your cruise line,
that's probably like the number of kind of like the number of stars you would give something.
So think of it as like 4.39 stars, but coming in at a very close second,
very close second, and we're going to be going over the top five in every category.
The second best mainstream cruise line, according to reviewers at cruisland.com,
was celebrity cruises. And their ranking was really high. It was 4.37. So we're talking,
you know, 0.02 points here in difference between Royal Caribbean and celebrity owned by the same
parent company essentially the same company.
Yeah. Right. Okay. Number three, Mr. Cruise Subs TV was carnival cruise lines.
And their ranking was 4.33. Number four, Disney. Wow. 4.31. And wait until you hear number five.
This one's going to take you by surprise. Any guesses?
I'm guessing it's not MSC.
No.
Holland?
No. I don't.
I mean, I could just keep going down the list and say NCL.
No. That's why I said you're going to be surprised. It's actually Virgin Poiseges.
And this is best mainstream cruise line. Isn't that interesting?
That is very interesting.
Yeah. So it was in the best mainstream cruise category. It was from number one to number five.
It was Royal Caribbean, then celebrity, then carnival, then Disney, then Virgin.
Very interesting to me and Ben, the best overall cruise line.
I get it with all of these. And I think that in some cases, it's also volume of reviews, right?
But I was a little sad not to see our wonderful friends at Princess and Holland America on the
list. Got to be honest. But maybe there just aren't as many reviews in those categories.
Maybe.
Maybe. Okay. So remember, we're still in the best cruise line overall category, but we're going
through the different types of cruise lines. Now we're going to go to the best premium cruise line.
And the number one rated best premium cruise line was actually Viking Ocean
Cruises coming in with a 4.25 score. Second was wind star cruises at 4.22 Oceana at 4.18
Azamara Club at 4.16 and Cunard at 4.12. So these were premium. Now remember, I said Viking Ocean.
I didn't say Viking River, right? We haven't gotten to the river yet. We're going to talk about
river later. But I thought that was really interesting that it was that Viking had jumped up there in
the premium because Viking Ocean, you don't always think about that when you think, oh gosh,
what premium cruise line am I going to go on? You think about Oceana, you think about wind
star, you think about Cunard and Azamara. But do you think about Viking Ocean? They're really
making strides. They really are apparently. All right, let's talk about luxury cruise lines.
So we talked about mainstream premium. Now we're stepping it up to all the way up, right? To luxury.
And I am not surprised about these rankings at all. In fact, these are exactly what I would expect.
The number one rated luxury cruise line was Seaborn. They are part of the Carnival Corporation,
by the way. They came in at a 4.17 rating. Then we had Regent Seven Seas Cruises at 4.14. Silver
Sea was number three at 4.09. Sea Dream Yacht Club at 3.98. And Coompany DuPont Yacht Cruises,
very French, maybe. Was it 3.86? So Seaborn, Regent, Silver Sea, Sea Dream and Po-Nacht.
We could say Coompany DuPont, but it's just Po-Nacht, right? To most people. So that's the luxury scores.
Mr. Cruise, who's like glazing over, he's like, well, we haven't really been on a whole lot of
luxury lines, but sounds good to me. Hasn't none.
As in, sounds good though, right? Yeah.
We'll get there.
Good stuff. Yeah. Still working on that first million.
A million what? Subscribers or dollars?
Okay, let's talk about river cruising. Okay, this one really took me by surprise to you. There's
a lot of rankings here. I was like, wait, what? This is so cool. So best river cruise line. When
you think about river cruise lines, Mr. Cruise Sub-Sivi, I know you're not a big river guy,
but what do you do you think of any particular line? Viking.
Oh my gosh, listen to you. I'm impressed. Well, Viking was indeed number two, but they were not
number one. Guess who was number one? American cruise line. Cruise in the rivers of the US. Now,
I feel like there might be a reason for this. Like you're coming back after the pandemic,
right? And you're maybe you're a cruise traveler and you're a little bit less likely to venture
abroad, but you love the river cruise concept or product and you have the budget for river cruise.
What do you do? You jump on an American cruise line and you do the beautiful rivers of America.
That's so it makes so much sense. So they were at 4.34 on their score and then your buddies at Viking
were at 4.11. Next up was Alma waterways, which honestly gets incredible reviews, you guys. Now,
they came in at 3.34%, but I have to tell you, anyone I know that's ever been on Alma raves about
them. So I'm not sure why they were sort of in the middle rankings here. Next on the list was
Avalon waterways and lastly, you know, World River cruises came in at 2.60. It's a pretty
interesting divide there. This is a much bigger ranking divide than say the best mainstream. So
when you were talking about the best mainstream cruise lines, Royal Caribbean was 4.39. They were
number one and Virgin was 4.29 at number five. That's a very small margin, but for these river
cruise lines, American cruise line was at 4.34 and then you know world came in at 2.60. Yeah,
that's a big difference. Yeah, interesting. It is. It's interesting. So that concludes sort of the
the best cruise line overall in those four categories. So when you're thinking about cruising,
we're always talking about mainstream premium luxury in river, right? And there's probably,
I honestly, I think that there's kind of a subcategory like the the semi premium lines like
current excuse me, a princess in Holland, America, in some cases could probably be considered semi
premium. So I feel like there should be almost another category under mainstream. What between
mainstream and pre-narc would that be considered? Cunard is in the premium category. Okay. And they
were number five, so they got some pretty nice rankings in the best premium cruise line.
Okay. So the next category is interesting. This is actually best onboard experience.
So this is where members scored highest for onboard experience elements. And what does that mean?
So in 2023, this is where cruisers were talking about which cruise lines had the best food,
had the best dining experiences. So you're kind of combining everything. Yeah. Yeah. It's not just
the best food. Right. It's just overall experience. Overall experience. All right. So it's food,
dining. Tell me who it is. But wait, I have to tell you the rest. There's more. It's food,
dining, onboard activities, entertainment, staff and service and staterooms. All right. Okay. So
yeah, you're ready for the envelope. Mr. Croose is like, I want to know. Okay, the best onboard
experience. And actually they did break it down. I got to tell you, they broke it down for the best
food and dining food and dining. They did say it was celebrity at four point three five.
Yeah. So it's that doesn't surprise me. Yeah. Celebrity has a good rep. Number two, again,
coming in with best food and dining, Mr. Croose is to be American cruise line at four point three
Oh, American cruise line must be doing things right. Yeah, that does surprise me. Yeah.
Disney cruise line four point two six, not a surprise. They're definitely in the premium food
category. Viking cruises four point two five and Royal Caribbean four point two four.
So this is the best food. So we're okay. So when we go back to onboard experience,
let me just recap guys, we are going to break it down. If we confuse you earlier,
we're breaking it down to food and dining, onboard activities, service and staff and
staterooms. So there are categories within this one, but we got, we got this. Okay. So
all right, Mr. Croose is to be who do you think won top score for best cruise line for onboard
activities and entertainment? That's got to be royal. Yes. You're right. It is royal Caribbean
coming in at a four point two two score. And then who do you think was second? That's top,
but I'm going with celebrity. Yep. You're correct. Dang dude. Impressive. And then number three was
carnival at four point one six. And then Disney came in number four and then American cruise line
again. Wow. What is going on? American cruise line is making a resurgence playing with the big boys.
Playing with the big boys. Their passengers are getting on to cruise line.com and they're leaving
reviews. That tells you something. Yeah, for sure. All right. So let's talk about service and staff.
Number one ranked for service and staff was again. Royal. Yeah, Royal Caribbean. Number two was again.
Celebrity. Yes. Number three was again carnival. And then number four was Disney again. And number
five was American cruise line. So interestingly enough, no, it was 100% exactly the same. The best
onboard activities and service and staff were the same. Okay. So state rooms is where we're going to
mix it up big time here because the state rooms things are going to start well kind of changing.
There's some, there's some of the usual players here, but there's some changes too for best cruise
line for state rooms. Am I guessing you want to go with number one? Who do you think has the best
state rooms? I know you're not going to get it. Okay. So it's not royal again. No, best state rooms.
Tell me celebrity. Interesting. So close. So close. You are same parent company.
Number two is Royal Caribbean. You know, you kind of threw me off because you said I was never
going to get it. I'm like, well, never going to get it. Never going to get it. Never going to get it.
Sorry. I had it. But I think I would have got it. You just kind of shot me down before I could.
Who are you? Because I was going to start going through the list and you're like, you're never
going to get it. You're never going to get it. So I was thinking it was something odd. Do you know
why I said you're never going to get it? Because you haven't been on a celebrity cruise. So you
don't know what the serums are like. Yeah. But I kind of a feel for, you know, what's going on out
there. Yeah, that's true. You ought to. You've only been editing videos. Not like you. I mean,
you really are truly are at the pulse of what's going on. But I'm just kind of on the periphery.
Okay. You're so funny. No, I don't know. Okay. So state rooms. Yep. Celebrity, Royal Caribbean.
Oh, wait. Did I go down the list? No, I haven't yet. Continue. We only went through number one.
Just just celebrity. Okay. Celebrity is number one with a really high ranking of 4.53. So people
really dig those celebrity state rooms. So the controversial. What are those
state rooms called the infinity balconies? You know, the ones that have the, they have the window
that goes up and down and the balcony runs into the state room. Those are very controversial.
So despite the controversial infinity balcony, they're still getting the best rating for state
rooms. Okay. So let's run down the list. So it was celebrity was the number one at 4.53 for
cruise line state rooms. Number two is Royal Caribbean at 4.49. I would have guessed that.
Interesting, right? Maybe because they have so many fancy suites available and a big variety
of state rooms, you can get anything from the Ben and Jerry's suite to a regular ocean view,
right? To a suite with a butler. You can do a central park balcony, a boardwalk balcony.
Are Ben and Jerry actually in that suite or? No. Due to their location on the promenade,
you actually get free Ben and Jerry's for the duration of your cruise if you reserve a Ben
and Jerry's. Okay. Let's balcony. Okay. So Mr. Cruz, MTV coming in at number three for best
state rooms. Here we are again, American cruise line. I'm not joking. Now I was expecting carnival
to be there. Yeah. Why? Just because that's kind of the pattern. It's been one of the two
Royal Caribbean group, celebrity or Royal Caribbean, then carnival, then Disney. Yeah.
I get it. And then at number five, it's, you know, bets are off. Yeah, all bets are off. Okay.
So yeah, it was American cruise line and then number four was Holland America line for best
cruise line state rooms. So finally, Holland America getting some love and very, very close to Holland
America was 4.447 Disney for best cruise line state rooms. But let's move on to the best
cruise ship overall. So now we're talking about top performing cruise ships. So the actual ship
itself, not the cruise overall, but the actual ship. So we're going to talk about the best overall
actual cruise ship of the year and the number one ship in interestingly enough in 2022 was a
lure of the seas. Isn't that interesting? Isn't a lure in Texas now? I have no idea. I think those
Texans are loving it. You're at the pulse. I'm into periphery. Okay, sounds good. Well,
we'll talk more about this category because I'm confused about what it is. Okay, so it's the best
cruise ship itself overall. So highest rated ship, not cruise line, but ship. Just everything about
the ship. Yep. Is the best in this category. Yep. And the top new cruise ship of the year is
coming later. So we're going to talk about new cruise ships, but this was just overall ship.
So best overall cruise ship number one was a lure of the seas. Number two was oasis of the seas.
Number three was adventure of the seas. Number four was harmony of the seas. Number five was symphony
of the seas. All five best sweeping in the category. Yeah. So all five categories in best overall
ship were Royal Caribbean. And I think a lure is now in Texas, by the way, believe it sailing out
of Galveston if I'm not mistaken. So Texas loves a lure of the seas. So now with that in mind,
I have a pretty good idea of what the best new cruise ship is going to be. You do. Yeah. We're
not there yet though. We're not there, but I have the information to make a prediction. Oh, you do.
Yes. Okay, good. Keep going. So they actually threw in something interesting on this category.
And that is that they threw in honorable mentions. And I can see why they did because the ratings
on a lure oasis and symphony were all like 4.3 something. Well, the honorable mentions deserve a
little airtime here because they are very close. And those were carnival's Mardi Gras. That was at
4.30, navigator of the seas and other Royal Caribbean ship, carnival horizon, mariner of the
seas and independence of the seas. So just two little carnival ships made it into the honorable
mentions. But I think it was important that they did that because there's really close rankings on
this one. Have you ever been an honorable mention? I don't know that I have. How does that feel?
How does it feel to be an honorable mention? That's what I was wondering because, I mean,
I guess it would be nice, but you're also kind of feeling like you didn't win, but here's something
for you. It's kind of like I also participated, right? Participation award.
Well, guess what? It's your time, Mr. Cruise Ship TV. You wanted to talk about the best new
cruise ships. You have some major prediction. So hit me with it. What do you think is the best
new cruise ship? I don't want to talk about it. So this is interesting. I just want to give you
my prediction. Okay. Well, go ahead and give me what do you think was the best new cruise ship?
Right. Best new cruise ship. I think it's something we have been on before.
You are correct. And I think it's going to be one drug to seize. W O T S in the house. Yeah, it is.
I nailed it. Mm hmm. You nailed it. Yeah. Wonder of the seas came in number one with a score of
4.23 followed by my celebrity apex. No, Richard, close. No. Number two was actually Discovery
Princess. Oh, good for West Coast lovers. Good for good for princess. Yeah. And number three,
you're close with celebrity apex. It's celebrity beyond. Good job. You were there. No, not going to
comment on that. Honorable mention for me. Yeah. And number four was actually Norwegian Prima.
Yes. Norwegian Prima getting some love spreading it around. Yeah. And then best new cruise ship.
Number five was Carnival celebration. There was a pretty big divide between the ratings, though.
Wonder of the seas got a score of 4.23 and then Carnival celebration, which was down in number five
was like 3.58. So that's pretty big gap, right? But they did throw in some honorable mentions.
Are you ready for these? Fire away. These are all amazing. MSC Cscape, which honestly sounds
like a phenomenal ship. I love the MSC ships that have the outward focus and they're focused on
not on the interior promenade type situation, but that are out, out facing. This one sounds great.
So that's number six is honorable mention MSC Cscape. Then we have Disney Wish. And then three
Viking ships Viking Octantas, Edgier and Gimir all came in as honorable mentions for best new
cruise ships of 2023. Pretty cool. All right. So we do have a lot more to go over in this category.
Mr. Cruise, you want me to pick up the pace? What do you think? Shall we pick up the pace a bit?
Always pick up the pace. Okay. So next up, we're talking about the rapid fire. Okay. Onboard
experience is what's going to be next, right? So this is ship quality, food and dining, onboard
activities, staff, service and state rooms, and we're going to break them down. So let's talk about
actual ship quality. This is such an interesting category to me, but the number one cruise ship
for ship quality was Rotterdam. And that's actually a Holland America ship. Interesting, right?
Number two is celebrity edge. Number three is celebrity apex. Number four Disney dream and number
five, majestic princess. Isn't that interesting, majestic princess coming in at number five?
Honorable mentions in best cruise ship for quality would be Oasis of the Seas.
Celebrity beyond. Symphony of the Seas. Celebrity reflection, excuse me, and celebrity equinox.
So that's interesting. Rotterdam, people love the way that that ship is sort of just bringing
in the quality, the food and dining, the onboard activities. So then let's move on to best cruise
ship for food and dining. I'm interested in this and I'm curious to know what you think is number
one in best cruise ship, not cruise line for food and dining. That's top, maybe celebrity beyond.
You're so close. It's celebrity edge again. How was close? Yeah, celebrity edge came in at the top.
Second was celebrity equinox. Third apex and fourth reflection. So in the top five guys,
four celebrity ships for best food and dining. And number five was Norwegian escape.
Honorable mentions in this category, celebrity summit, Norwegian encore, celebrity solstice,
navigator of the seas, interesting. And Disney wonder, I like how one real Caribbean ship slipped
into this category. So celebrity kind of cleaning up in that category. Yeah, so I think if you're a
foodie, if food and dining is important to you, this might be something to look at. Really,
maybe consider edge equinox, apex and reflection as ships you might want to book right away.
Okay, let's talk about onboard activities and entertainment. I love this one. This one kind
of took me by surprise. What do you think? Any particular actual ship that you think wins for
onboard activities and entertainment? Well, it's got to be one of the
rail Caribbean ones. And maybe a lure. Yeah, how did you do that? You are good. It is a lure of the
seas. Yep, 100%. A lure of the seas came in at number. Oh, I think it's number one. Yep, number one
for onboard activities and entertainment. Then it was a waste of the seas, navigator of the seas.
Again, getting some West Coast love out here, freedom of the seas and symphony of the seas.
And then when we're moving into honorable mentions in terms of onboard activities and entertainment,
we've got indie independence of the seas, Disney dream, harmony of the seas,
Mardi Gras and celebrity beyond. Interesting. I was surprised to see celebrity beyond sneaking
in there and the onboard activities and entertainment, but people ranked it pretty high.
Wait, who else? Knuck in there, Disney and what is the other one? Yeah, it was actually Disney dream,
independence of the seas, harmony of the seas and Mardi Gras, carnivals, Mardi Gras.
I knew there was a carnival in there. That is kind of a surprise. Yep, yep, interesting.
Okay, so next up, Mr. Cruise, Sub-CV, it's service and staff. And I always feel like
service is such a critical backbone of a cruise. This is big, but your buddy, a lure of the seas,
made it again at a score, a service and staff score of 4.778. I think that's pretty amazing.
And a lure is out there in Texas. Yeah, at least they, I don't think they're there,
they're around, I need to check. But I know that at least for a time, a lure of the seas was doing
the Caribbean in Mexico out of Galveston, but I think that's kind of a seasonal situation.
So I want to take a peek and see if I can figure out what other areas you can book on a lure,
because the ship seems to be very popular. And I love that. I love that it's like,
you know, it's working. But I think it's back in Miami right now in Orlando. I'm okay,
I found it on the website. So a lure of the seas actually, yeah, Miami or Orlando.
Well, it depends. It looks like Galveston too. So it's going back in
production of Florida. It depends on when you're listening. Yeah. Anyway, so it sometimes could be
in Galveston. Yep. Sometimes somewhere else. Florida. Yeah, so it's going back and forth between Texas
and Florida. Okay, so the next step for service and staff was celebrity Equinox,
celebrity solstice, Oasis of the Seas, which is another Oasis class,
Royal Caribbean ship and celebrity reflection. So lots of good service on celebrity,
some good service on real Caribbean there as well. Honorable mentions include celebrity silhouette,
Disney fantasy, celebrity edge, carnival radiance. Wow, go carnival radiance,
West Coast again and navigator of the seas as well. So some good stuff there. All right,
let's talk about best actual cruise ship for state rooms. So not cruise line, but cruise ship.
Coming in at number one, celebrity edge, best rated state rooms. Interesting, huh? But then the
number two spot is not another celebrity ship. It's actually Symphony of the Seas from Royal
Caribbean. Number three is Odyssey of the Seas. And then we go back to celebrity apex for number
four and number five, Wonder of the Seas. So for seat rooms, it's kind of all over the map. And
then you have the honorable mentions in best cruise ship for state rooms with celebrity reflection,
Norwegian prema again, Norwegian prema making it making an appearance, Disney dream, Oasis of
the Seas and Rotterdam, which is a whole in America ship. Mr. Cruise's TV, that was everything. We did it.
That was a lot. So let's talk about big winners. Obviously, Royal Caribbean group. Yep.
Because they've got a Caribbean group. Yep. Good. Well said. They've got celebrity and
Royal Caribbean just cleaning up. Yeah. I heard Virgin in there one time. I heard Holland in there
one time. I think Holland America was in there a couple times. Okay. But you're close. Yeah. Not many.
Cunar, not many. MSC one time. So I'm wondering, I'm wondering if maybe the people who responded
to the, would it be a questionnaire? I think that this is just rating. So these are people who are
going in and after they get off their cruise, they're ranking the ship. They're rating it. They're
leaving a review on Cruiseline.com. Yeah. So I'm wondering if the people who frequent cruiseline.com
are just more leaning towards Royal Caribbean group. It may be, but we also have to consider
the fact that Royal Caribbean is one of the largest cruise lines in the world. So by virtue of that,
you're going to have just more volume, right? I think anywhere you're going to have more volume,
whether it's on Cruiseline.com or another site, it could be that there's just more representation,
right? In those areas. Okay. So what did you all think about this? Was this surprising to you?
Was it something that you're like, wow, no, that actually lines up that's been
consistent with my experience. I think it's so fun. If you go to the Cruiseline.com website,
I did notice that they actually, they actually call this the 2023 member choice awards, but remember
that we're ranking the ships from the 2022 period of time, right? So I just want to kind of mention
that out. But I thought this was really fun. I was really surprised. And I think it's neat to
also see after a really full year of cruising being back, not just a partial year of being back,
that we had some interesting data. And I'm curious to get on some of these ships. I'd love to say
a loner of the seas, by the way, out of Texas. It seems like it's probably an awesome experience
from what people are saying. And I love that Royal Caribbean is cleaning up and doing a good
job. It's not easy, right? It's not easy during these times of supply chain issues and all that
crazy stuff to have to provide an exceptional service to people. So you got to hand it to them.
You do. You do. All right, folks. Thank you so much for listening today. I'm going to be posting
this podcast over on social media. And when I do, if you want to weigh in and what you think about
the member choice awards from Cruiseline.com, come join in the comments on Facebook. That's
probably where we're going to have the most activity. Let us know what you think about the
best ships overall, the best food and dining experiences, the best service we'd love to hear
from you. And until next time, we'll see you on the high seas.
