Difference between SEE a movie and WATCH a movie?

A student asks, is there a difference between sea a movie and watch a movie? Yes, there's a tiny one. If I say let's see a movie tonight, it implies we'll go see it at the movie theater. But if I say let's watch a movie tonight, it means we'll watch the movie at home. However, when asking the question, have you seen a certain movie, we always use have you seen and not have you watched. And in this case, it doesn't matter if the person saw the movie in the theater or watched it at home. They could reply, yes, I've seen it or no, I haven't seen it yet. Hope this helps.
