"Have a good look" or "Be good-looking"?

Hi and welcome to the Espresso English podcast where you can improve your English in just a few minutes a day. My name is Shayna and I'm the teacher at Espresso English. Make sure to visit the website ispressoenglish.net where you can get online courses and e-books that will help you learn English even faster. Let's get started with today's lesson. A student asked about the difference between have a good look and be good looking. Are they the same? Nope. Let me explain. To have, get or take a good look means to look at something closely and in detail. If you're planning to buy a house you would go visit the house to get a good look at all the rooms and examine the condition of everything. Before signing a contract you should take a good look at the text, read it closely. To be good looking means to be attractive, beautiful, nice to look at. Maybe you're at a party and you ask a friend who's that good looking guy over there because you think he's handsome. Have a good look to look at something closely or in detail and to be good looking means to be beautiful or handsome, attractive. Thanks for the question and make sure to follow my channel.
