I'm on Lesley Mac, producer and co-hosts on Today. We have an amazing show for you. We are delving into our experience at the recent Midwest run of Goos's 2023 spring tour. We're going to talk a little bit about gendered expectations and music communities. And for the first time, we're sharing some live interviews from Goos shows at the Salt Shed in Chicago. How is everyone doing? Hannah, Alexi, is Chelsea. We have the full crew here. How are y'all doing today? Awesome. I'm excited to go over this and I'm excited for the shows coming up. Because I added in the war field. Yes, I know. The rest of us will be couch tour. But Alex is going back on the road. Chelsea, how you doing? I know it was a long weekend last weekend and I was lucky enough to spend the whole thing with you. How's it going? Yeah, it's going good. I mean, I just got back to the normal grind here. And I went and saw some live music last night. So you know how I do? Don't stop. But it's been fun. I really was excited to talk about the Madison Chicago shows because, you know, I'm Midwest girl. So those are hometown shows. So that was fun. Yes, I'm excited to talk about it with y'all. For sure. Hannah, I would be remiss if we didn't send a special Happy Birthday to Tyler who we got to celebrate in Chicago this past weekend or two weekends ago. Yeah, this past weekend. So Happy Birthday Tyler once again from the Goose Chickspot crew. How are you doing, Hannah? Are you home recovered? I know you took like a plane train and automobile's journey to get to South Carolina. How are you? First of all, I just have to say you'll never find a better crew of friends than these lovely ladies here because they love me so much that they got my best friend a set list. He's never had a set list even though he's been seeing them since the Covington years. Summertime is here. It's arrived. That's amazing. Well, I wanted to make just one more small announcement. Breaking news. Breaking news today. Friends of the show and amazing goose fans. We're just, we're just sending all the love out to you. And we cannot wait to celebrate with a nice big hug when we get to Asbury Park this summer. So happy wedding and congratulations to Sarah and Sean. We're so excited for them. So I wanted to make sure that we're. And we must note they got married to honey bee playing. I heard. Oh. Oh. No, my heart just like grew like an extra size. I could use it, which is great. All right. Let's get into the nitty gritty of the show. That was a lot of announcements we had. I love it. It's great. Fantastic. It was. Used the community is everything for real. All right. So usually we break down a song, but because we had some shows that we all went to, we decided to forgo that part for this episode. We're going to talk about the Madison and the Chicago shows, the first part of the Midwest run for for goose. Chelsea and I got to go to the Madison shows, which was super fun. I'd never been to Madison period before. And I definitely obviously hadn't been to the Sylvie, but I heard really amazing things about the venue. So I was excited to go. I flew in straight, not straight, but I flew from Charlotte to Madison to meet Chelsea. I will say, you know, y'all know I travel in goose gear as a rule. And I had my goose hat on the new like dead cap with the script on it on the plane. And I had a little layover in Chicago, both of my planes, multiple people stopped me to ask me if I was going to the shows and to say how amazing goose was. So please, I just recommend if you want to meet more goose fans, wear your goose gear on the road because people will absolutely talk to you, be excited that somebody else loves goose as much as they do. So just giving a little plug and suggestion to everybody to. That happened to me for the first time with all my travel drama. I forgot to tell you when I was at Fort Lauderdale getting food, I was talking to this guy and a girl next to me. Well, she, it was her and then him. So I couldn't see his shirt. So I was like talking about like why I have been traveling and everything and like how I've seen this show. And then he finally turns around toward me and I can see his shirt. And he had a goose shirt on. Everything that we did. So it was ticker and everything. So it, yeah, that was, that finally happened to me. We are legion. That's right. We're out here. Makes it all better, yes. So Chelsea, this was like low key hometown show for you. You had some friends also Jonas, which was amazing and even more exciting. Your parents went to their first goose show. So tell us how that came came about. They might have been the cutest things I've ever seen. I'll definitely put a photo on our stories because honestly, so, so cute. So yeah, just talk to me a little about that. Like it was hometown show for you, low key and that your parents got to come. Yeah, so I love Madison. It's a couple hours from me, but I've seen so much live music there. So I've been to the Sylvie before. Actually, so I'll goose there last year as well. So this was like a nice hometown type show for me. And yeah, my parents wanted to come. They actually reached out to me. They're so cute. I had invited them a long time ago, like, hey, just mentioned it. If you want to come to Madison, that would be fun. And nothing ever came of it. So I didn't think much of it. And then I think it was like the Monday before the show by mom texted me. She's like, are there still tickets for that goose show at Madison? And I was like, I think so. Yeah. And I found some and she's like, okay, yeah, we want to go for our anniversary. It was their 45th anniversary. And they, my mom wanted to do like a little traverse. And that what you're supposed to get for the 45th is a goose. A goose, right? Yeah, actually. So, so they made it a little trip for their anniversary and what with me to their first goose show, they wore matching tie dye. They're just so cute. And we were on the rail, like literally far, far trevour side, like the end of the rail. But they were having fun. My mom was like, I like it up here. I'm glad we came up here. And she's like, they're giving us free water and I can breathe. I feel great. She was just into it. I was like, okay, mom. Yeah, they had fun. It was, it was special to have them there. And then also with my friends, Nikki and Matt, being able to see a show with them too. So I saw part of your Instagram story of your mom, Gansing. And you could just tell like not knowing her, the look on her face and her dancing that she was in her element and she was feeling herself. And it was just, oh, it was every kiss. Yeah. She like closes her eyes and gets into it like I do. I was like, oh, I am my mom. That's exactly what I was doing. And my dad was like, Bob and my dad was like getting into the goose. That's so awesome. Afterwards, my dad was like, you know, you really don't have to worry about feeling self-conscious about how you dance because everyone's just dancing their own way. And I'm like, yeah, that's one of the best parts of it is you just, everyone's feeling themselves and getting down. Yeah. So if you think about it, it's so you. It's fantastic. I have to say, the cutest thing was you Chelsea kind of like recognizing roles had flipped and like you were worried about your parents. Not that one was pretty much you. And it was so cute. You're like, I told them to tell, call me as soon as they got in. I wanted to make sure, you know, so like it was just really cute just to see you taking such care of them. And you know, and obviously enjoying the show with them as well. But I love that just watching you be so loving with them. I had never been to Madison before. I had a great time. But they're a little bit before Chelsea got to have some lunch. Jeff and Adam Burdle were having lunch at the same restaurant I happened to be in. So I got to chat with them for a little bit and also saw Peter out in line when to go see Real Fam and talk to everybody that was there. Shout out to everybody. And this for those who don't know is my first goo show ever without my husband, without Drew. So that was a really new experience and I have to admit to I wasn't feeling nervous, uncomfortable because Chelsea was going to be with me and I was like, okay, I have people. But I was uncomfortable and they're like, I don't know what I will be like at a show by myself because so much of my vibe at shows ends up being like Drew and I connecting or like loving a song together or like hitting each other when something happens on stage and stuff like that. So I was like, what is going to be like? And it turned out to be amazing. I just, everybody was so amazing to me. So sweet, especially the Real guys, they literally kept checking on me. Are you okay Leslie? Are you okay still? And I just wanted to thank all of them for that because it was really sweet. And the show of course was amazing. They were definitely back from break and you could tell that they had had some time off, at least from my perspective in terms of the energy level. I don't know about you, Chelsea, but it felt to me like they were ready to be back on the back out there about back playing together. I think it's interesting for a jam band because so much of their musical connection is about the live connection between each other. So they're not like a band that just records a studio album that goes and tours on the studio album only. For them being a part I imagine is kind of difficult for them musically. I could tell they were just psyched to be back together. And it was a great, great show. That show was amazing only out just to watch. So the whole time I'm sitting there thinking I should have gone with it. Oh, so what I'm so happy y'all got that because definitely that show was it was mind-blowing from the couch. So I'm glad that y'all were there to get that. Energy was high. I will say the venue, I love the Sylvie. Multiple reasons. Staff was amazing. One of the most friendliest staffs I've ever encountered at a venue thus far. And as Chelsea mentioned, they were giving free water out constantly. And not just the people are friendly, asking us to pass it back and continue passing water back, keeping people safe, making sure folks had space. Even the entrance process was not a haired and difficult to do. Yeah, just they kept coming out even in line and talking to us. The security kept coming out and talking to us and just hanging out. So I can't say enough. Two thumbs up to the Sylvie. Very, very good venue. Easy to navigate around, get to the bathroom and back. I didn't feel like I was pinned in on the rail. I couldn't move, which happens at a lot of shows. So yeah, I like it there. I'll definitely, if they play again there, I'll be going back for sure. So favorite jam Chelsea before we move on from the Sylvie show. So for this one, I'm going to go with the board because I feel like it may have made me a fast-born fan. Cause I know we've said that, you know, I'm very partial to the original board and I've watched that video and listened to the album version so many times. But yeah, that jam, someone turned to me and was like, do you, I think afterwards they were like, do you like the fast-born? And I was like, I think I do now. So yeah, board. Love it. So I think that's the best way to do it. I think that's the best way to do it. I think that's the best way to do it. I think that's the best way to do it. I think that's the best way to do it. I don't even need to say their names, but I was really excited to see a family going to a goo show for the first time and helping them have really positive first experience. Shout out to them. Shout out to Pat. Shout out to Megan. Love you girl. Have fun out on the West Coast. You never alone at a goo show no matter what. It was just a reminder of that. It was really great to see so many new people. I didn't mean to jump back, but I forgot to mention that. Oh, it's a very show. I'm happy that she said that, Leslie, because it's very important as the scene grows and we'll touch on this later. But as the scene grows, vibes are changing. I remember when I first came into the scene, shout out to Addison. He, I think it's Addison Bradley. I can't remember a lot of things. Y'all know my memory is the worst. We see Goose and he's in front of us on the rail, Pete's side. He finds out that it's our first show. He's like, no, if this is your first show, he's like, you have to have rail. So he let us have rail and, you know, and ever since then, you know, we've gotten different setlist and just get gotten pretty lucky with getting setlist and knowing different people. So, so this Salt Run show, it just, you know, it's very important to make sure that you give back to the community. I'm so happy that y'all got them a setlist and Tyler's birthday getting a setlist for Tyler and stuff. And his picture is so cute. And so many people don't have, you know, don't have them. So it's so great to be kind, be Ted and help and give back, you know, to others. And, and if you have a setlist, if you have a couple of setlist, give, give to others, don't be, don't be greedy and Carmel, come back. It's awesome. It's true. Carmel definitely will come back and spread the wealth. Everybody wants to feel special and, and again, just giving, just this, I mean, the bigger gift in the setlist was her smile for me. That definitely could never compare to having a setlist. So it was great. Exactly. And so, yeah. But the venue in Chicago. I was going to say, so Lex, you were, I just want to be sure that everybody, Lex was shooting in Chicago. So Lexious was actually working up front there, again, pictures of everything. And so I wanted to, yeah, get your perspective from the photographer and professional side of things. What was the venue like for you? One thing to know, I just want to mention, like the Salt Shed, used to be a Morton Salt's actual like storage factory facility. So it's literally just like one super long building. I've never been in such a long venue. So the main floor is just like really, really, really long, which is unique and different. I'll post a picture on our stories as well so y'all can see what I'm talking about because they took a picture when it was full. You can see how long it is, but go ahead, Lex. So the venue was just, like you said, it was very long. And triangular up top, it was very cool to see the lights, you know, because from different areas that you're at, you see different views. And so it's really awesome being a photographer because I'm able to see each different view in the house. And so I was able to go, I was all the way up front, you know, right in front of the band. And then I was all the way in the very back, you know, just as far as you could get back against the wall and get these lights were, you know, they were able to do the triangular shape, you know, the lights that he has this year and how it goes like kind of in a diamond. It was so cool because they were literally lit up and then he had different lights along the way back. And so it was really cool to see like how far the lights went out. And the lights went up on the ceiling halfway back in it, you know, going up at a triangle. And it was just, it was really cool. And so we've been in it, we were in the Pullman in Atlanta last year. And the Pullman, you know, kind of at first when I was outside, I was like, this is giving me Pullman vibes. But when you got inside, it was, you know, it was better because it went as far back as you could see flat. And then they had seats that went up and then they had a, on one side of it, they had a balcony so you could see more. And so it was, it was much better viewing options there. And so it was, it was a really, it was a really rad vignu. I was really excited to see all of it. It was very jam-packed full, full to the brim. They had it jam-packed and, but it was, it was a really nice vignu. I liked it. I thought it was really cool and the history behind it and the way that they saved it. And Goose is like the first big, big band that they've had play there. So, you know, so this is going to, this is going to bring them up. This is, you know, the security guards were telling me the entire time. They were like, we are so excited that Goose has come, you know, because they're the first big band that has come here. And now that they've come here, this will bring a lot of other bands that comes here. And so they were just so grateful and so excited that Goose had come to the Salt Shed. My one thing that I will say is that water was not abundant. I think that it was very hard to get to the restrooms. And then, you know, I, being a photographer, I was talking to the security guards. And, you know, this happens a lot at different venues. I, you know, get to know the security guards, talk to them. And I was like, hey guys, listen, you know, these passing out. And it would, the passouts were literally from dehydration and because they could not get out of the room. So it's like, you know, it's what I've seen other places do where the first night they had as many fallouts that they had with it. They would just bring in, you know, big things of water and make sure it's passed out. And I said, even if you sell them, people just need access to them because they didn't have a, they didn't have a row for people to get back. It was very hard as the photographer to be able to get to the back, you know, with that, with that big bag on and at points I had to, you know, have it over my head trying to get through the crowd. But it was such a beautiful venue. I don't want to, you know, to be negative about it. And just, it was an awesome venue. Just my only suggestion is, is make it easier to access water. And I want to, I want to pause for a minute because they did allow you to bring in empty water bottles and we forgot Friday, but Saturday we had two water bottles going and one was like a big personal one. So every time one of us went to the bathroom, we would just fill it up. So that was a little bit better. And then I'll also say they had liquid death water for sale. And that's probably their under contract. And most places in Chicago sell that and are under contract with that brand. So they may have had limitations outside of their control because of the way the market for water is in Chicago, which sounds stupid, but like is real. So at least they did minimally what they could. I think like, you know how at the cap, there was the women, because it was all women who worked for the venue and they were selling water to people like even in the GA. Right. Yeah, they have just walking around selling stuff, which I think was like saying, you just put it. That's what I was saying. Yeah. That's what that's what that's what that's what they did. Yeah, they did that. I have seen venues do like just cups of water. They've just had big jobs. Like Stugger, I think did that. Yeah. They've just had a cup. What was the one that just did it? It was like just, I don't, it was just like two things. One of them did it. I remember that too. And just were hanging out cups of water. So there's ways around it. But I do think hydration needs to be addressed at all venues. And I really, you know, I hope all acts as well, not just goos. But I think that's why I was trying to get to the front. And I was like, oh, I'm not going to go through that because it was really hard, even if I had my water bottle, if I needed a second refill, like I could from up front, I physically couldn't go through that. Right. And that's, that's all I was trying to say is I don't even care if they're selling it. You know, just like they did, you know, just bring it up there and there's access because you could not get like once you're in the front, you could not get to the back. It was impossible. And so I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And I think that's a good thing. And you could see the people working there were learning from night one to night two and they were really receptive to talking about it. Like I was, I took a breather outside, was also talk about morning minute when I go over the podcast flow down, but I bought a water and a beer outside and there was no line because it was outside. And the gals were saying, oh, like this seems like so much, so much smoother, so much better tonight is Saturday night. And Bailey, my girl Bailey and I look at each other and we're like, it's way more crowded. And then I had that light bulb moment of, oh, it seems smoother to you guys because you know what you're doing and you know what goose fans are like now. And you've adapted to this situation. And the women working there hadn't even realized that. And it was like a light bulb moment of everyone. And we're all like, oh, we all know what we're doing. Yeah, yeah. That was really cool. They were the women working. They were really cool. You know, my sister had her breast pump and all that stuff Friday and like they definitely struggled to figure that out, but then they were willing to work with her and everyone was gracious in the process, even if it was a little clunky because it is a new venue. So I expect great things from them. And I think they're really receptive to like, if someone, if we can communicate this to their team about the water thing likes, I feel like the next time goose plays there, they will be on that shit. So funny thing. Frankly, it's probably will end up calling them before people like that, which we might think of us. We're like, hey, just a little suggestion. Lex was already on that night too. And because I was up there, you know, I was up there. And there were a couple of, a couple of, what was the commercial guys that were out there. And so I was talking with the security guards and I said, you know, I was like, this is a great venue. I absolutely love it. You know, my only tip would be with all the venues that I've been to is, you know, get a, if you can't do it with bottles of water, you know, get the, get the water coolers and, you know, fill up some water cups and, or, you know, just sell water. You can have people come through and sell water on breaks. And, you know, but it's just hard for people to get to the back. And, and the paramedics were right there and the security guards were right there. And then another guy from the salt shed was right there. And I, and I even said, I was like, this venue is amazing. It's so, it's so good. The lights are so good. I heard people saying, I feel like I'm being taken up in a spaceship. And it's very spaceship like this. It was very spaceship. And the last time that I heard that from other people was Radio City Music Hall. So it was really awesome to hear. There were a lot of great reviews about it. And so, you know, me, I was just like, Hey, guys, it was, you know, this would just be my only tip of everything else. It's absolutely wonderful. And, and they were like, you know, that's a good idea. And one didn't think it was a good idea, but the other ones thought it was a great idea. And I was like, and I said, just think about it. You can make money that way. And so when you, when you pass it off like that, you know, they're always down to make more money. Exactly. Well, we are not going to spend any more time in Chicago because we're going to talk very much more about this on the live show. So make sure you all tune into that, which will also be added to the podcast feed eventually. I did want to turn the conversation to a more general conversation about gendered expectations of not male fans and us as podcasters. We've been running into some very interesting experiences as we are getting deeper and deeper into both goose dumb and podcasting about goose and about jam band shows. And I want to throw it to Chelsea to just kind of sort of frame this conversation a little bit because we've had some strange, oh, no, I'm going to throw it to Hannah in a second to go in depth. But I will say this, what we've been experiencing is we've been tagged a lot on various social media platforms with an expectation that we have to quote unquote do something about a situation, a moment, a person, an incident, whatever it might be, but the expectation in tagging us is that we, the four of us who don't even get paid to do this podcast, by the way, are expected to do something about something that has nothing to do with us. And the four of us that are talking about it in our group chat, which I have to admit is just a nonstop conversation. We were like, why, why does this feel so off? And I was like, it's because they're only doing it to us because we're women. There are multiple other podcasts about the band goose and certainly hundreds probably a podcast about jam bands and about live music. But somehow we are the ones that are getting tagged and being expected to do things. So I'm going to turn it over to our resident gender studies, women's studies expert, Hannah, to leave us in the discussion. Take it away, Hannah. Sure. And so I guess it's also important to note just for, you know, transparency or clarity. Like the only person who has met the band several, several times to the point where they'd probably recognize her is Lex. And that's not because of the podcast. That is only because she's a professional photographer. I've met Ben once in passing. He would not know my name. He would not know my face. I've met Jeff twice in passing. He would not know my name. He would not know my face. He might, because I met him a little bit more. He maybe might know about the podcast because I talked to him about the podcast once when he was listening to live music at a bar. And that's it. Like we do not know these because we're not friends with them. We didn't grow up with them. And so I don't know if maybe that's part of it, but I just want to make that clear. And when Lex knows it professionally and that's it. So one of the things that is just a thing that people, like you just, it is, it exists is that gender is, part of all of our social interactions. And so the way that you engage with the world is gendered and that subconscious. It's not bad. It's not good. It's not right. It's not wrong. It just is. And so in my world and in what I research, we call that being a social institution because it's something that organizes our life. So the bathroom you have to go to, the clothes that you're encouraged to wear, the way that your, your mannerisms, you know, there's a way to be a woman. There's a way to be a man. There's a way to be feminine. There's a way to be masculine. And we all kind of do that. And even when we try, like queer people who maybe try to not do that, they're still doing the opposite because of the way gender organizes our lives. And so we're not pointing fingers or we're not saying anything inherently negative, but we just are acknowledging that that's a thing. And so that means that the way we do podcasts is gendered. And the way that we do fandom is gendered. So that's important to think about. And then with that being said, if we look at the historical context of the J.M. scene and we go back to Grateful Dead era, we know that the Grateful Dead scene was inherently sexist. I mean, they had songs that said things like, we can share the women, we can share the wine. Hello. And that's one of the songs that they didn't distance themselves with later in their careers. So, you know, they had, they had other stuff that they just distance themselves from. And so in the Grateful Dead scene, you definitely had women in the background. Women were not visual in the front, like even when they had females who were singing with them and who were on tour with them and stuff like that. Women were in the background and they were doing care work. Women were expected to make sure everyone was fed and hydrated. If you were having a bad trip, that's who it's take care of you. And that's not to say that there weren't men doing care work in that scene, but it's just the expectation was that the women were doing this work. And that's how care work was understood in that scene and is still understood in our scene. And so we just want to draw attention to that and sort of provide that historical context of where this comes from. And we also invite our fans, especially our, our guy fans to undo that work and acknowledge it and then just be like, Hey, maybe women don't have to do this stuff that is inherently sexist. Like maybe we can help each other out and we see the guys from the band doing that, right? We see Peter going out and making sure people are hydrated. We see, you know, whoever, but usually Peter saying to be kind to each other out there, you know what I'm saying? Like, so the guys in the band are trying in their own way. I don't think they probably understand it this way or think about it this way, but they are actually trying to undo that gender norm of women being care takers in the jam band scene. And that gives us this opportunity as fans to also do that. And then finally, one of the other things we were sort of talking about is how we get tagged in these posts because the expectation is that as women, we'll do the unpaid labor of addressing these issues, whatever those issues might be or perceived issues, I'll say. And yet we encourage our listeners to think about why are women held accountable when their male counterparts aren't, especially we're being held accountable for behavior of people we don't know. We're being expected to be held accountable for stuff that's completely out of our control that we don't even, we're like, you don't know about this. We weren't there. You know, no one was at, you know, whatever show this happened out or whatever. And so be kind to each other, but be kind to us too, because we are just very passionate about this band. We love the music. And at least for me, well, no, I think I'll speak for the group. What the hell? You're the girl. You don't know. Like the four of us, it's not like we're, we want to be friends with the band. We don't like, we want that distance because like, we have all been in, in the limelight and other capacities, at least to a certain extent. And we understand what it means to have people stop you and be like, Hey, I feel like I'm best friends with you. And then we're sitting here like, I don't know who you are. And I don't know you at all. And so for me, and I think you all probably agree, you don't want to ever make the guys feel that way. And so like they're, they're, they're, they're third-year-old men. And they're human beings, right? They're human beings. I'm not just there for entertainment. We're like, I love them to live their lives. I want them to live their best lives. And like when they share beautiful moments with us, like when Ben proposed to Sam on stage, like that was beautiful. And I love that. And I love love. And I feel honored as a fan that we were able to bear witness to that. But like you, the expectation shouldn't be like, if, you know, Peter wanted to propose tomorrow or Rick wanted to propose tomorrow that we would all have access to that, right? Right. And saying that, Hannah, like I'm just going to stop you for a second. I'm sorry to interrupt, but saying that since that has happened, I have seen it personally happen. That Sam has lost her autonomy. And she is, and she is allowed to, to have, to have fun at these shows and to be able to go out and dance. And, you know, and for people just to let her be, you know, she is the kindest person. She's going to say, Hey, to people, but there are also times that she wants to go out and dance with her friends. And a lot of this, you know, a lot of this has stopped with the girlfriends and, and fiancees because people just feel that they can, you know, just run up. And, and they don't mind a hate. That's fine, but just, you know, thinking that you're going to sit there and talk to them forever. You know, and if they have time to sit there and talk, you will totally know, you know, but if it's just a, Hey, thank you. Nice. You know, let them, let them go about their way. They are completely human beings and they deserve to have fun at a show and to not feel like that they have to hide in the background. And that's something that I've seen that has changed over time. And remember, the band is the band and they are the ones, you know, of course, when you get when you are in the limelight, you know, that's just part of it. You lose part of, you know, of your private life and but you shouldn't lose all of it. But the fiancees and the girlfriends, they're not in the band. They didn't sign up. You know, they didn't sign up for this. A lot of them were in ticket for them. So let's just be clear. Yeah. Yeah. They live their lives and enjoy how they want to, just like we get to. Yeah. And like, yeah, like Becky is a little more in the limelight because of her professional pursuits. And I also, I want to take a moment to shout out. There was a handful of people at the Chicago run both nights who had the empathy is everything shirt on that. Yeah. And I definitely, I didn't get to talk to any of the people wearing their shirts, but I definitely handed them out stickers and was like, I love your shirt. And it was like, there was like two sets of couples that I ran into and both the woman and the man of the couple had the shirt on. So like, we love seeing that more of that, please, like support the cool shit that Becky and Peter are doing. And like, if any of the other guys collaborate with their partners or whatever, support the shit out of that. But then that also doesn't mean that because Becky is more in the limelight that if you see her at a show, well, she's putting herself out there more, Sam's putting herself out there more. And so we, you know, right, like, if you want to take, yeah, if you want to say, Hey, I love your shirt. I love all the work you're doing, Becky. That's awesome. Yeah. Like, so like, don't expect to have like this, you know, hour long conversation with it, right? You know what I mean? Exactly. I want to take a moment because I think that part of our fandom is really cool that there's crossover and we see people wearing the collaboration shirts of Becky and Peter at Gujos. Like, that part is dope. Keep that up. We love that. Yeah. And I'm sure like, if they have the time, like, for example, I was talking to Rick one night and a lot of times he does not have the time to talk. And so a lot of people come over after a little bit of time and, you know, and I start to panic because I'm like, oh, he's out here talking, you know, because I'm out here and I'm like, you know, do you want me to, you know, walk you back towards the bus? Let's talk walking back towards the bus. And he's like, no, you know, it's cool. So, so sometimes, yes, they definitely want to talk. They definitely want to interact. And, you know, but sometimes they just want to be able to have their privacy and their show. So, yes, this is a very important topic. And this has been something that's coming up. And can you imagine, like, I feel now, you know, just doing the photography and stuff. People will come up and tap me on the back or, you know, come up and talk to me. And I have no idea who they are. And I'm so thankful to talk to them. And I love them. And I thank them for coming up and letting me know how much their work means, you know, how much my work means to them. And that means the absolute world to me. And I absolutely love that. And, you know, I can only- Yeah, you got to get back to work. So, it's like, yeah, man, right? Like, hey, and also I'm working right now. So, yeah, I think, and it's like that for the guys. I mean, they love their work, but it is their job. Exactly. I think we get very seriously. I definitely confess, like, I should beat her away a Madison because we were, I saw he had been talking for a while and he literally had like a drink and like food in his hand. And so when he came over and he was talking about like, dude, go inside, you're going to more people are going to come, like walking. I'll see you on stage because that's just my thing. I want them to get whatever they need to be ourselves and be ready and be comfortable going, putting everything out for us that they already do on the stage, which is a lot. So, yeah, I appreciate that for sure. I wanted to touch back on the unpaid emotional labor piece because one of the things that I love about the youth community, and I'll just talk about folks that are frequently on the rail or that are in line, you know, all day, is that they really have, for me anyways, broken down these gender roles so significantly. I think it's because a lot of the guys that are in that space are younger and they really recognize how they're really able to be. So I wanted to give a shout out to, of course, my long lost son Lucas. And also I want to give a special shout out to JD and also to Afen because the three of them really took amazing care of me on this run. But also they were taking care of a lot of people and took it really seriously that they were going to be the ones to say something if something was wrong. They were going to be the ones to like get water for people to make sure everybody had what they needed. And really took on, I specifically want to talk about Afen because he really took on a full caretaker role. I was like jokingly saying he was like the goose Superman because he was really just running around just making sure everybody was good to like fit like literally looking everybody in the eye. Are you okay? Are you okay? And I just appreciate this like, you know, intergenerational connections that I've been able to make with within the goose community and how the guys, the younger guys are so willing to step outside of quote unquote gender norms and be themselves. And if they feel like they're a caretaker person, then that's what they're bringing to the shows and I really love that. And I think the guys, it's a direct reflection of how goose the band operates and how what they give to us and how they act towards each other and towards their fandom as well. And I want to back you up on that because this was your first show. This is your first weekend without your husband and mine started last year and I think it was Richmond without my husband and, you know, and you're, you know that we have our jamly and this here for us but it's still a whole different. It's a whole different run and you have your plans that you have said, okay, you know husband does this wife does this, you know, and so that everything vibes together and now you know what's happening your, your this too is now becoming one. So, but the, but the jamly the goose family comes together and everyone helps each other and me with epilepsy and having to take my medicine every 12 hours. Everyone sets their alarms, you know, make sure that I have my medicine, you know, do you have your medicine Alexias before we go in and and everyone's just super, super protective and over protective and making sure that you're taking care of. And I have so many friends that will tell Jason when they know that Jason's not coming there like don't worry man, we've got her covered you know everything's going to be okay and making sure that that I'm never by myself that you know how are you getting home what are you doing like there's someone always someone always with you and, and the three that you mentioned Leslie Lucas JD and an ATHEN they are true literal saints these guys are absolutely amazing and everyone comes first there. They just have the best hearts the best souls the best intentions always and all I've ever seen out of them are the biggest smiles ever so it's so just so grateful for our jamly that we have and that's my new word I'm going to start calling the jam family you know the jamly because we are just so close and everyone so amazing with each other and we need to continue those good vibes as as thing grows and and remember the good vibes that we started from and continue to bring this love and passion for the music and for everyone that loves the music. So I just wanted to back you up on that because it's the truth and your media let me show you talking. We often say you don't know what you don't know when we're talking about stuff so the three guys we were talking about they know they know what's up. They have grown up in a time where talking about gender issues and race issues and stuff like that has been become more mainstream. And so they're just doing that like they're just doing because they grew up in that space and so you don't know and that's okay but once we start having these conversations in our scene now you know and how can you look to that younger generation and use them as mentors to learn how to be that way. Like I know a lot I have a lot of friends who are you know in their 50s and 60s who will say like you need so often I get pegged to be a mentor in my professional world but then they'll say well I need a younger mentor for me so that I can learn about like the younger generation and I think that's really important. And also like I work with professionally I teach kids around their ages and people are always like oh those youth. And I'm like hold on let's give them credit because their generation fucking rocks they are awesome as a generation. They see outside the box. They are willing to break down sexism racism in ways I didn't know how to do when I was 20 years old 25 years old. And so shout out to not just as three guys but their generation of young people who are just crushing it and being kind and being empathetic. And so. And changing. And you're changing. Yeah. And I think the biggest hallmark I would say of them is that like they're willing to admit they don't know what they don't know. I think they're lack of ego in that particular place of like when there's a growing edge for them is like oh I want to know more about that. Like I didn't know that it's not it's so not defensive and it makes it so much easier to connect with each other and with them. So yeah just shout out to all of the young folks all you zoomers we love you guys. I wanted to ask you Chelsea about. I know you had saw on Reddit. We're not all on Reddit but we just happen to have a few comments about Reddit right now where the term goose chick was being used negatively. And we've been seeing this crop up a couple places. So why don't you just say one like what was your first thought like when you when you read that and you were like obviously we talked about the group but I wanted everybody to hear kind of your thoughts around how jarring it was for you to kind of just like read that be like wait a minute what's happening here. Yeah so I said that you know that's the first time I ever heard goose chicks being turned used negatively. And what it was was just some girls that weren't being very polite in the audience but they were calling themselves goose chicks. And this was the first time this person had really heard that term and I guess they didn't know about the Facebook group and all this stuff. And so they just kind of were like I don't know what those goose chicks were about but I wasn't really feeling it so I feel like it was like a small group but I just want to say if you're representing goose chicks and you want to call yourself that. Goose chicks are kind and welcoming and friendly and polite. And that's what we represent and I don't want someone to put themselves out there and think that just because you like goose your goose chick that's not true. You must be nice and kind to fit in with the goose chicks. Check out the goose chicks Facebook group because you will find that everyone there is very welcoming. Seriously, there's never any drama on there. And also, yeah, as you said, I think the kindness piece is really there because in the group, we don't just talk about goose and the Facebook group. It's a lot about whatever personal issues are going on supporting each other in our business endeavors and our personal lives, supporting each other when things are not going well. It's a really beautiful, loving space and we try to extend that into the show spaces with each other. But Hannah, as I said, our resident gender studies expert is very right and pointing out we're in the chat right now. You're talking about how the female coded words eventually always get turned into something negative and so I guess we're trying to head this off at the pass and be really clear that being a goose chick is awesome and that it does mean something special and we're still defining what that is like together. Shout out to all the times I've handed out a goose chick podcast sticker to a dude who was like, I'm a goose chick too. Yeah, it sounds silly and it sounds joking, but what I probably these guys will understand is by doing that, they're showing themselves as an ally to me and they're showing us that being a goose chick is a positive thing that they want to be. And that has so much power. I don't think you understand how much person was the first man that ever said that to me was Navid. Of course, of course, he's like, he literally said, I'm an honorary goose chick though, like I've been told I'm like, you are Navid. Yes, yes, there are definitely a few of them out there and they're so amazing and so kind and that's definitely, I'm happy you brought that up Chelsea because it is most definitely a thing. And here recently as the group is, you know, as the band is growing and I've seen a lot of cool goose chicks that are coming in the community after dead, you know, after pits and stuff. Oh, that was a huge is very exciting to me. So many people that, you know, were that are now following goose because they saw goose, you know, playing in the sand and they were just like, Oh, who is this group. So, yes, so we, something that I learned at Fredfest was, you know, phones down hearts open and that goes for all of us and especially the goose chicks, not just especially the goose chicks, but especially the goose community. And, you know, we definitely do not want goose chicks taken in a negative connotation because we are not negative. Actually, people actually men will join our group goose chicks and it's actually Tina's group. So this is always a big thing to shout out to Bethany as well. We love y'all. Thank you for reading such a beautiful space. Thank you. And we're the podcast there, the group, the group of where the podcast, absolutely. We're going to take a quick break and we'll be right back. ♪ ♪ All right, welcome back. We are going to talk just for one minute about you haven't heard. There's a really great interview up on Uprock's on their indie mix tape column by Stephen Heiden catching up with goose. Still America's next great jam band. Stephen had spoken with Peter and Rick about a year ago, so he was tapping back in to see what has all been going on since then. It's been really great. And Chelsea, I wanted to just turn it over to you because you had a little piece of Rick's conversation there that we wanted to just spotlight and talk about for just a few minutes. Yeah, so when this article came out, we obviously all just read it right away and we're talking about it. And I am new to the jam band scene. This is kind of my first experience with that. So I'm learning a lot, but there was a part in the article where Rick mentioned fish fans expecting type two jamming and that he did mention, maybe we don't need to win them over. But this is something that I hear a lot as someone who's not really familiar with fish or jam bands of like, oh, they didn't do type two or that was so type two and out. So I just text our group chat like, what the fuck is type two jamming because I don't know what people keep talking about it. So Leslie was so gracious and explained it to me and we thought it would be a good thing to chat about today. So I'm a lot her explain it the way she explained it to me. For sure. And it's a great question. Also, like, I love that we're going to be able to demystify some of this stuff. One of my biggest critiques of fish fandom is that it's very gatekeeping. They really like to be insular and make you feel like you don't know anything. It's kind of a hallmark of the scene. And it makes it really unwelcoming to lots of people and certainly to new folks. So let's talk about types of jam. So a type one jam is a jam that really continues the characteristics of the original composition that it's being jammed off of. So the cadence stays the same, the meter stays the same, the melody often stays the same and you kind of are jamming within the structure of the song as it exists. Very cool, very fun. Type two jams end up being a complete departure from the original composition. So it will be a different tempo. It will not have anything to do with the melody of the original composition that it took off from. Cadence will be different as well, meter will be different as well, even key changes will occur. So anytime that you're listening to a jam and you say to yourself or somebody next to you, wait, what song is this again? Odds are that's a type two jam because they veered so far from the original song that you can't hear anymore. It's not really present. Goose, I will say, is really, really good at coming back from type two jams back into the song. It's one of the things I think really make them stand out from other jam bands. And it's also been a critique that people have thrown at them that they're like, oh, their jams are so rehearsed and I'm like, no, actually their jams are not rehearsed, but their transitions are. And I think it has made them a much better band. It's made them a really accessible band to folks that may not really be into jam music because they rarely disintegrate into kind of what people refer to as the bleep blop blort that you will hear at fish jams where they just kind of let things peter out into whatever because that's the type of jam band that fishes and there are others that are like them as well but obviously fish is really well known so I'm going to use them as an example. But one, when we were talking I was mentioning like slow ready is a great example of a type two jam because a slow ready jam does not sound like slow ready at all. Once it gets going into that second part of the jam, the slow ready jam, it's different. Now we all know it's a slow ready jam because it goes with slow ready every time but imagine it's the first time you're hitting slow ready live and they play slow ready and you've heard it wherever. And then they go into this jam partner like, what's this? That's a type two jam. I wanted to just mention one other thing that I've noted about Goose specifically and they did this in Chicago which is, I've been calling them jam sandwiches because I don't know any other thing to call them. And they did this in Chicago with Echo Over Rose, I think it was Night Two. And so what they'll do is they'll start with a song, they'll play quite a few songs in between, right, full songs, but in the jams of those songs, they will tease the original song that started off this little sandwich. And then they'll come back at the end and they did this in Chicago, so like after drive, they went into finishing up that set with Echo Over Rose again, they came back to Echo Over Rose. So I love that it's really just a unique thing about Goose just like their three part harmonies that we get to hear so often they're singing in rounds that we get to hear so often it's just another hallmark of kind of the different things around Goose and their uniqueness as a quintet. So that's it, that's my story about jams and all the different types of jams, perhaps jam sandwiches are actually a type three jam. I don't know y'all. We'll see, we'll see. I just have to say on the jam sandwiches when you said that, all I could think about was the uncrustable shout out to Smuckers. We had those at our air beam being the Chicago Broncos were here. Those got us through the Chicago run. Thank you Leslie. And so we were very happy to see Goose and Ann. Oh, Smuckers, and Crustables. Yes. That's a good color story. We got back to the Chicago Broncos. So like late at night and we were like, I was like, guys, they've got encrustables in the front. We were like, we were like, I want to tell her birthday party. I brought one to the after party. We brought them to the after party. Which, I have a question. Did our after party a whole one up to your standard, Leslie? Oh, yeah, it was great. I had a wonderful time. I was funny. It was good. People were great. It was a wonderful shout out. Ian, Ian's taking over for our agency. Yes. It was funny. We got back to the Airbnb and like the boards were up. We were like, oh my gosh. We were just getting home from partying and they had the boards up. So that was pretty wild. The boards were up that meant that I had to go out partying. And he didn't listen to these boards. That's right. That's right. All right. I'm going to turn over to Chelsea for our this week's fan, our spotlight. All right. Yes. So y'all know my friend Nikki Jones. She was with me on the Midwest run this time in Madison, and Chicago. But I wanted to shout out one of her things she does, which is Acro Yoga Quad Cities. So you might remember Nikki was on our Yoga of Goose episode where we talked about yoga concepts in Goose lyrics. But she is also the co-founder of a performing arts group called Acro Yoga Quad Cities. So it's a small troop of dancers, flow artists and acrobats. They do live performances and they even incorporate fire and LED props. And they're also all yogis. Wait, wait, wait. You say fire? I just want to make sure I heard it. Yes. Okay. Wow. Amazing. I know. So they're also all yogis. So their performances all have these undertones of yoga mythology as well. They like hold each other up. It's wild. But they just did a really cool guest performance locally in Davenport, Iowa at the Village Theater. And today they posted a full video of that performance on their YouTube. So go check it out. It was really cool. Subscribe. Give them a follow. They are hoping that they'll be able to start performing at workshops or some festivals this summer. So hopefully we'll see them at summer camp or somewhere like that. Do they do lessons? Because I know when I was at Bonnaroo, I went to a hulu-hulu making workshop where then they had a lesson. So if they do stuff like that, they're starting to do more workshops where they're able to teach what they do to other people. So it's amazing. Check them out on Facebook and Instagram at AccroYogaQC. They also have a YouTube page and then their website is AccroYogaQC.org. Well, definitely have all these links in the show notes and also expect to see that YouTube video on all of our socials as well. Very, very cool. Well, this is a perfect segue. Hopefully they will be at summer camp. I'm going to throw over to Alexia to talk about festivals. And specifically summer camp. Yes, I'm so excited about festival season coming up. So at summer camp coming up, Hannah and Chelsea are going to be there doing onsite interviews. Like you'll hear on today's show coming up here in just a little bit. Goose, Volvolf Pick, Mo, Aunt Freeze, Willie Nelson, and many, many more. Artists are going to be there. This is going to be Memorial Day weekend. At the end of May, check it out at summercampfestival.com and make sure to get your tickets and meet up with Hannah and Chelsea. I'm hoping to squeeze the way in there too. So you never know who all you're going to see. Maybe we can get Leslie to come too. So but definitely Hannah and Chelsea are going to be there. You won't be getting any of them. You won't be getting any of them. Very, very, very frank about that. You won't be getting me. So definitely check out summer camp at summercampfestival.com and look into it and look out for Hannah and Chelsea and do some interviews with them. Oh yeah. And shout out to my sincey trash crew. We got a big group going to summer camp. So I really pumped for that. And I think Chelsea has a pretty good, some good friends going with her. So find us, have fun with us. And can we just pause for a second and say how sick the lineup is? Literally, you, that was what I was about to say before you saw. I was like, the lineup for summer camp though is fricking bonkers. It is stellar. It's like, you're going, it's like, stop them. I don't even know how you would even be at the campsite. I mean, I just wouldn't be at a stage all day long. We have, we have friends who go like somewhat regularly, but not every year. And so we had friends who were on the fence and then they saw the lineup and they were like, wait a minute, wait a minute. And so like our group just like slowly has been growing because of the lineup. So, you know, it's all about the music. Yes. So I'm so excited. Oh my wildest dreams are coming true. I guess if you want some of them, what is my life? All the Louisville crew is going also. I think I've got a lot of this summer camp. It's going to be heavy because Goose family. Yeah, I think that's, I think that's why I'm going to find my way in. And it might be the three of us there. It might be. I'm calling that. So, yeah. All right, we're going to stick with Hannah who's going to do our podcast lowdown for this week because you met up with somebody who hasn't finally got a week ago. So the Saturday run Saturday we had mentioned was way more crowded. And there was a moment where I just needed some some air, like actual go outside and get some air. And my buddy Johnny and his girlfriend Bailey were outside smoking with our friend Andy. And they had been bonding with this one woman who she, I think it was only like her first or second goo show, but she and her husband are really into dead and co and stuff like that. So we were just like all hanging out talking story and everything. And she and ice gave her sticker and told her about the podcast. And she was like, Oh, like having talked to you for a while, you should check out this pod, this project that I'm, I'm friends with them and they're really cool. And it's called the sister project podcast. So basically this is a podcast of two women, their sisters. And they talk about just different issues about being, you know, an elder millennial and going through different things like pregnancy and aging and stuff like that. So I just thought it'd be cool to share on our show because I love when the universe works in that way where, you know, you're organically at this good show and because we have a goose podcast and then you meet people that you can incorporate into your podcast. And so that was just a really cool moment for me. Shout out to the people who helped make our outside time fun and worth it because I felt I didn't feel like I was missing out on the show or had foam or anything like that because the conversation on the outside area was so great. So that was really cool. And we'll link their podcast and everything with all of our stuff and everything. So yay. Thank you. And I hope you enjoy that podcast if you listen. Yes. And as you said, we'll definitely have the links in the show notes and also sharing our socials. All right, we're going to take one more quick break and we'll be right back. Oh, oh, oh, we can go, go, we can go, go, go, go, go. And we're going to take one more break and we're going to take one more break and we're going to take one more break. We're going to take a short break. We'll be back soon. Thank you all so much. All right. Welcome back. We are going for the first time. We're going to be sharing some live interviews that I was lucky enough to get to do in Chicago at the salt shed. Now, I do have to give a disclaimer. Anyone that spoke to me in night two, I had some technical difficulties. And so none of your interviews actually recorded correctly. So if you saw me on night two in Chicago, please find me in NOLA, find me in Louisville. I'm going to continue doing these interviews. So please, please, please, if you're listening to this and I didn't, we don't play yours because I didn't get it, please find me so we can interview you again. We are going to start with Janelle from Ohio and we're going to have, oops. Can you all hear that? No, right? No. Okay. Yeah. You could hear it? Mm hmm. Okay, great. Just a tiny bit. Yeah. All right. We're going to hear from Janelle from Ohio first. So here goes Janelle's interview with me. Oh, probably you electius, maybe? Is it a red hat or a blue hat? Like the one? Like highlight. I've never been brunette, but blonde. I probably tell you then. Yeah, probably. Yeah, probably. That does sound like because you say Facebook right now. Yeah, yeah. Probably healthy. We're all here for, very, all four of us are in the house. But tonight we will be. Okay. How did you discover this? Oh, my, well, actually my neighbor, best friend, she really was into them and you've been watching them in her backyard, streaming, during the COVID. Yeah. And then my husband became obsessed with it. Good husband. Good husband. How would you describe Bruce's sound since someone who's never heard them before? Um, like they play every song, like it's going to be their last song. They really, they just, I love that. Anything into everything. I love that. What's your favorite thing about Bruce's music? Like what does it do for you? I think there's a lot of their songs are very thoughtful lyrics. I like that a lot. Um, hey, can you touch me? There's a couple of things that feels really exciting. All right. Let's go. Yeah. Yeah. Um, who do you usually go to the shows? I usually go with my husband. The last, uh, we went to the bar show with like a new friend, new couple that we've never run to show. We were like, we've deemed them our good friends. Nice. So yeah, I've been hanging out with Nick, Nick, Lett here about every time. I had you with Nick, Lett earlier. So yeah, awesome. What is the most enjoyable thing about the Goose community? The Goose community is all the open minded and just really kind of, and the floor is always so unique. Yeah. It's just very rare. It's very rare. Nobody's here to really get fucked up. They're like a friend. I'm only doing others. We're not doing this. We're back, Rob. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, what's the most underrated Goose song in your opinion? Most underrated. Um, yeah. Writing an album. I'm going to say that. Okay. Okay. I like it. I like it. Yeah. Um, last two questions. Uh, what's your favorite thing about the way that Goose's music brings people together? Um, okay. Um, I'm going to say, um, I'm starting to like get to know like different things, different faces, but I'm all the Goose groups. We got going on. I love it. Last one. Do you know any Goose related conspiracy theories? And it's the last one. It's a Christian dog. It's a Christian dog. Awesome. If you could just say your name and where you're from to finish out. My name is Chanel. I am from Big Island, Ohio. Awesome. Thank you so much, Chanel. I appreciate it. I love her answers, everything. So cute. Okay. We'll do a couple more. Um, since I mentioned Nicolette there, let's hear when Nicolette had to say. Oh, I love her. Oh, it's my birthday. It's my 30th birthday. Oh my God. I'm 30, dude. What's up? We love birthdays. Cool. All right. So how did you discover a Goose? Um, my now fiance, Steven and I were going to the intersection in Grand Rapids for, um, pigeons playing ping pong. And we found out that Goose was opening up and we're like, let's figure out who they are. We listened a little bit on the way really well. They're good, like, you know, decent. Like, we didn't know what to go expecting. We had an open mind. We, uh, went in, watched Goose and our mind was like, thanks, you, our mind. You just wear on the podcast. I don't have to wear a fucking balloon. We loved it. It was so good. We were like, I can't believe these are their songs. Yeah, I thought like women are playing hot too. This has to be a cover right now. Um, we loved it. Immediately after Goose played, we were, um, about second rail. Yeah, we were second rail. So right behind the rail. I, um, started getting lightheaded. And I lost vision and hearing and I passed out and even had to carry me all the way to the back. It gets to the crowd. Oh my gosh. Because I don't know what it was, maybe love blood sugar. And, um, my vision came back once the cold air from the back of the intersection hippie. And I opened my eyes to a man, very, like, big man in a pigeon suit. Going around in circles. Really? It was crazy. A little surreal. Oh. And that's how we found it. I love it. Um, how would you describe this as sound to someone who's nervous? Sound to someone who's never heard them before. Um, okay. Uh, dynamic. Mm hmm. I would say that they're a dynamic indie band that likes to jam. So they have like extended playing times. But like really have a lot of like inspiration from jazz music as well as like funk music and people, music. So like they take a lot of their inspirations and add that to their playing. So there's a song for everybody rather than loving goose as a whole. Like if you don't necessarily like all genres, there's something goose can offer. Ooh. I love that. Yeah, they dip into genres where it's so many people. I love that one. Who do you usually go to good shows with? Steven Schnotler. This is your theme, huh? And what number show is this for y'all? 18. 18 today, 19 tomorrow, 20 in September. Awesome. What's your favorite thing about the goose community? Oh, uh, wow, love friendship. Oh my gosh, we have so many friends. We're actually in Chicago with friends we met in Colorado. I love it. I love it from Buffalo, Nashville. Awesome. I love it. Yeah. Just coming together to go to Goose. I love it. Um, what's the most underrated goose song in your opinion? Underrated. Um, Um, I mean, it burns a bit. It doesn't get played a lot. I know a lot of fans love it. It's a little deeper, but it burns within is my favorite song. And I don't think it's played enough for me because I haven't had, I haven't had, you haven't caught it yet. I haven't caught it yet. We'll send it to the God. Maybe tonight for your birthday. I love it. Um, Do you know any goose related conspiracy theories that you are willing to share? I'm asking anybody. Okay. Okay. Just to see if there are any out there. Um, None so far. None so far. Okay. Great. Um, I think I'm inspiring. And then just generally, what's your favorite thing about the live music experience? Like overall about seeing live music? Um, I guess it's just, it's my source of, uh, like happiness and every time I go see a show, it almost puts me on, um, like a new wavelength of life. And I ride this like high for a while that like, makes everything in life better. So every time I see a live show, I like, I feed lots of it and it makes me a better person. I love that. Okay. Uh, your name and where your problems ended up. My name is Nicolette Shkreli. I live in Bay City, Michigan and, uh, originally from New York City. I could call that. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome. I love Nicolette. She's so cute. And I was like, yeah, she was like, basically, and I looked at her. She's like, uh, but originally from New York. I'm like, good. Cause you're accidentally not a Bay City mission. So New York. Funny, funny story about Nicolette at the end of the night. I met her and I had that set list. And, um, and so she was like, oh, it's my birthday. And, um, and I was like, oh, and so I was like, oh, would you like this set list? And she was like, are you serious? And, um, I was like, yeah, sure. So, so funny. I didn't realize that you, I think she had said that, that she had recorded, um, with, with you in the afternoon, but that's so funny. I didn't realize that you were running that, but she was one of the ones that I gave the set list away to for her birthday, like that night set list. So she and Tyler got the night of their birthdays. The whole moment. I love that. I love that. And I think somebody, I think Chelsea, you might have given her a sticker later. And she was like, I got interviewed. And you heard earlier when I was playing Janelle. She was like, I'm here with, um, with Nicolette. And I had talked with her. All right. We're going to, um, play next, uh, somebody who is very well known and very well loved within the good community. We're going to hear from Colleen from Lobo. Okay. How did you discover goose? Um, it was back at the end of 2019 and, um, a big group of friends and, um, my husband and I, we had tickets to the pigeons show in Huffington and Nashville, like March 11th and March 13th, 2020. We got like everybody to go and they were like, who's this band? Goose opening. And so we started like studying before going to the show and we're like, oh, this, this, this is where it's at. And we were like, it was the goose show that we were going to then. And, uh, we made it to the Covington show and then everything I canceled on our drive home. Oh, oh my goodness. Okay. How would you describe goose's sounds to someone who's never heard that? Oh, you mean, questions like this are hard. I mean, you know, it depends. I'm describing it to a friend who's familiar with like jam bands and way easier, but I mean, it's groovy. It's dancing, but the lyrics, like the lyrics so often are so meaningful and, um, no, but like the whole, the whole vibe of like the whole community all feeds into, into like everything I love about their sound. I don't know. It's like, it's all the things. I love it. Okay. Uh, last question. What's your favorite thing about the way goose music brings people together? I mean, it's, it's given me so many friends that I never, ever would have met. And it's beautiful because, you know, you're out of show, you're waiting in line, you're in the venue and it's like an instant connection because there's this common denominator. And I mean, it's, yeah, like I often like it, things like this look around and just marble it, all these special people in my life that's all because of, all because of one band. It's, yeah, it's amazing. I love it. Okay. Name and where you're from to end it. Louis Wilkins, I think. I'm going to go to the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show. And you're going to be in the show.
