It's Roach, it's Wednesday and we have a special do-it-live. We're going to take your questions later in the show. A day which Newcastle United have defeated Manchester City 1-0 to end Peps Hope of a quadruple, a high in September, also just fueling his fire to make it 38 wins in 38 games in the league. A day on which Tyler Adams made his return to football, making his Bournemouth debut after 200 days out with that hamstring injury. Nicholas Jackson scored a goal. Chelsea won a game and also Hefferton Football Club scored twice and were victorious. That's right, two in a row. Honestly, we have it and fans can barely count this high. We can talk about all of this in the questions coming up later in the show but before we get there. We've got a man with the fastest thumbs in football. A gent who wields that smartphone like a sick shooter in the Wild West. The transfer windows close, the only way it ever does, slamming shut, trademark. Clubs are now left with what they've got. Coaches peering in the reserve team under the couch cushions to see if there's a decent left back lying around anywhere. Transfer window may be done. But it's not all peace and tranquility for transfer window rumours, so I'm joined today. By the one-man band, the transfer town cryer in the middle of the global soccer square, the Oracle of trades, the influencer Supremo, his Twitter account, we all huddle around for warmth and news from the front. Effervescent to vibe, trim a beard, the man whose thumbs are putting more touches, then Manchester City's midfield all season. It's the Italian cousin in the many Blazers family, host of the Magnificent. Here we go, podcast. Subscribe now, wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back. It's Fabrizio Robone. How are you, my friend? Hello, hello, nice to be here. And thanks as always for the kind words for the invitation. And as you know, we never stop. We never stop, but Fab, we have not spoken to you since that transfer window shut. Tell me, the day after the transfer window, do you have a lie in? Do you put on the speed out, go for a swim? Do you get a pedicure and a shoulder massage? That raced to the finish, finally done. No, no, this is one of my secrets. You can never stop. If you stop one day, then it's going to be complicated to be back in January and to be back in the summer transfer window again and again and again. You don't have to stop because if you want the news, if you want the update, if you want the connections with people in this industry, you have to be in touch with people every single day, especially when the window is closed. And so, honestly, a day after this year was quite special because with Saudi markets still open, Turkish markets still open, you know, things were still happening. So for me, probably the most relaxed moment was when the Saudi and Turkish markets were over. So in that moment, I said, okay, I can relax a bit, spend some time with my friends, with my friends have some normal time and normal life, but my normal life is into football. And so it's about calling agents, calling new players, calling directors, and trying to get in some information every single day because this is the biggest secret to get the best news during the summer and January transfer window. What is your reward? We had David Moizon and we were talking about what he allows himself to drink when West Ham are victorious. What is the fab drink of choice that you open after a frantic month of stellar reporting? Honestly, for me, the biggest reward and the feeling I have, the most important part of my job, is to see people around the world telling me, thanks for what you're doing. For me, this is something really special, you know. I started this job dreaming of having some information because I was going to buy the newspapers with my father every single day to dream about transfers when I was a kid. And now to be on the other side is something that still feels special. And going around the world and having people telling me, thanks for what you're doing, is making it special. And for me, this is the biggest moment. But if I was going to buy you a drink, fab, what drink would Fabrizio Romano order? No, for me, it's fine with sparkling water. I'm not a big fan of drinks. My water is my favorite. All those potential fab sponsors. We're going to get you into the water sector, fab. But we've got to wait until the January transfer market to open. But full clubs to begin to transfer players officially. But what are the agents and the players doing right now? Tell us what's happening below the surface that we're not seeing. Look, there is always movement. Apart from the first few weeks after the transfer window, so the first few weeks of September is a bit relaxed, of course, for agents and people involved in the industry. Now they are restarting because you have to be connected. You have to be in touch with clubs. So players who are not happy at their club are already thinking of the generally transfer window to give you some context that I was sharing the news about. For example, an important player like Pierre Hoiber, get Tottenham who changed his agent and now is looking for a move in January or somewhere transfer window, but he wants to leave Tottenham. And so they're already preparing the future. And this is the same for the agents. Agents are always connected, always traveling, always in contact with the clubs. Now it's time to prepare something. Of course, it's not time for concrete negotiations. But to be informed of what the clubs are doing, what the clubs are planning to do for their future transfer windows. And so I know that people maybe think that now the market is not active and is not in advance of stages, but is always, always active. You are fresh out of the San Siro stadium today. You just watch Inter, Jose Suello, and we're shot to one. So Suello coming from behind in the second half into still top of Syria on gold difference tide with AC Milan, who we'll talk about in one moment. But Fabrizio, we are also used to seeing you in your studio stuck to your phone. And you get to games often. I mean, what do you do when you're there? Because you're not a journalist writing match reports. Are you just meeting with sources, agents, players, or would you say for the game ever? Just as a fan? No, no, no. I always try to meet with sources, not in Milan honestly, because here is just to follow the games, to follow Inter in Milan when I can. It's San Siro's a pleasure. But usually when I go to stadiums in other countries or also in Italy, but in different cities, for me it's important to connect with people. This is the most important part in this moment of the year, because obviously during the transfer window it's complicated to meet with sources. I try to do that, but it's more in specific moments. Now it's crucial for me on a weekly basis to travel, to go around stadiums, to meet with players, to meet with agents, to meet with directors, to meet with people into the clubs. It's really important. It's the best way to be connected. And then in the football world it's very big, because it's connected the world world. But at the same time, it's more world. They know very well that, for example, if I'm going to meet a player, this player is going to introduce me another player, because maybe they can't together to have a lunch or dinner. And so it's always about networking for the transfer market, and for me it's absolutely crucial. Can we talk about the other Milan? AC Milan, Christian, Polisek and Unis Muses, Milan, they're both adjusting to Syria life. Polisek, create a force in 70 minutes against Calgary, create the chaos that led to the opening Milan goal, then assisting Loftus Cheek. I love how the Italian commentators call him Loftus on the third, a goal designed to bring a tear to any Chelsea fans eye. Musa continues to get substitute minutes mostly, as he acclimates coming in in the 59th minute today. You live in Milan. So, Polisek first. How are the fans there taking to our boys for Britain? Look, for Polisek, I think, is a fantastic moment. He's exactly what he expected, apart from the derby, but that was not a good game for the world. For the world Milan squad, but in general, the first games for Polisek have been perfect, I would say. He's a leader, he's playing regular good football. As you mentioned, he provided an assist today in the Calgary game, and was a complicated game, because Milan conceded the goal, so it was a dangerous one, but Polisek was crucial to help the squad win in that game. And in general, the feeling among the fans in the city is that Milan not just signed an important player, but also a very good leader. They needed some leadership in that position, and I think this is also what Polisek needed to feel some positive pressure, to feel Milan fans expecting him to do something, and he's always ready to provide something important. So, I think this is the perfect match between Milan and Polisek expectations. For Mousa, I think it will take some time. He's a great player, we know. But Milan are very well covered in that position. That's why I think the coach Stefano Piolli is taking some time before putting him in the starting 11, and it will take some weeks, but I think it's just a matter of time. He's a very good player, and the impact was good. There's a story in the Italian press after the weekend, 1-0 when it gets for Rona. Manage Stefano Piolli said after the game, he said at the end of the match, Eunice told me, Gaffa, it's tough in Italy. It's so hard to beat your man. They're so aggressive and physical. These difficulties can be overcome. They will grow with every game. They need more time to understand the system. Essentially, that's what you're articulating, Eunice. This season is going to be a slow season with minute-derm. But really, they're betting him down for seasons ahead. I think it will take some time. Yes, that's right. For a creative player, the policy is obviously different. It's a different position, so you can be more relaxed in what you do, because in the offensive position, you get many opportunities. In the midfield, it's crucial to be perfect, also the tactical point of view in Italy. As Eunice mentioned to Stefano Piolli, Milan coach, after the Verona Goyne, as you said, in Italy is very complicated to play, especially in that position, especially in the midfield. The team are very tactical, very physical, aggressive, and so it's important not to do anything bad, otherwise, with Inter Milan fans, this kind of fans in Italy in the best clubs, and you went to Snapoli, the pressure is incredible. So if you get a grain-bronk, it's going to be a problem. So they are kind of protecting Musa, but I think it's a matter of time. To big news, or big rumour in the Spanish media yesterday, and I'll let Vichao Es reporting that Gia Reina is set to be a target for AC Milan, who won a prize in from Dortmund in January fab. This is a transfer rumour. I don't want to over-hype it, but it's a transfer rumour of immense strategic importance to our nation. This is deaf contour, baby. Tell us what if anything you've heard. How real is this news? Look, at the moment I don't have any confirmation, I've asked about that, but I'm not sure Milan are going for that kind of play, your creative player in that position, in the generally transfer window. I think this rumour is coming from a similar scout, being in that multiple times to follow Borussia Dortmund players in general, but Reina was not a priority at the moment for Milan. They appreciate the player, but it's not a concrete target, because I think Milan are not looking to add one more creative player. They already have many. They spent big money on politics, but also Chucuezza, who joined from Villarreal, who is a very good player, and is taking some time to be in the starting 11, same kind of situation of Musa. So I'm not sure that Milan will go for that kind of player, and also I'm not sure this is what Jo Reina needs to do as next step for his career. Of course, Milan is a fantastic opportunity, but he needs to play. He needs to be a consistent player in the starting 11. It's really important to him, and in this squad, I think, is complicated to get. What does he need? Jo Reina, Fab. What's a real estate possibility for that gentleman? I think he needs an opportunity, like in a different environment, where he can be an important and crucial player for the squad, not just one more, but an important player to feel some responsibility. I think this is what he needs, and he knows that. I think this has to be the next step. Maybe something in England. You know, I think that could be perfect for him. Something like, I don't know, breakfast, bright on that kind of opportunity, where managers play offensive football, quality football, and he's absolutely perfect. But further north, what Fab's saying? This is for Brits Irmann. I'm trying to read between the lines here. For Brits Irmann, they're saying, jeer Reina to Everton. Make it, sir. Let's see. I am fascinated. How are the Italians adjusting to the influx of American talent? Is it noticed? Are they like these Americans, you know, Tim Weyer, Western McKinney also? Is it commented upon the Americanness of these players, or has it just seemed like any other nation at this point? How are the Americans seem perception-wise? No. The perception is excellent. Not just on the pitch, but also off the pitch in Italy, is really important to have players who are professional, who want to get to the top level, and it is not easy to find this kind of mentality in some other players. To have American players, you know, you have a guarantee on that part of view. For example, the policy is a fantastic professional, saying for Mousa and all the others. So, it's really important to have that kind of mentality. So, on the pitch, it's very clear that the movement is improving, and so there is a very positive, positive idea of the American players here in Italy, but also off the pitch, and trust me here in Italy, is not easy to play in Milano and Roma. You can have a beautiful life and to be professional. But, American players are always a guarantee. Really news. And honestly, harder to watch because, well, because of the races and the tones, and even harder to understand, because of the self-inflicted nature of it all. But Victor Osserman, reports yesterday, surreal reports, that star striker, Victor Osserman, he have 31 goals in 39, Scadetto winning games last season, could take legal action against his own team, Napoli, over derisory, mocking TikTok videos of his penalty miss, which were posted, still find it's almost impossible to believe on the club's official accounts. You've been all over this story, Fab. The striker's agent that said the video mocking Osserman was quote, not acceptable. Legal action has been talked about. So many questions here. First of all, Fab, how was this posted in the first place on an official club account? This is absolutely unacceptable. And it's impossible to understand, honestly. Napoli mentioned that they are always doing this kind of sarcastic content. And so it's something that they're trying to do in a different tone compared, for example, to, I don't know, Instagram or reeks or different platforms. But the reality is that you can post something like that, especially to your best player, and the player who changed your history by winning the third title couple of months ago. So it's absolutely impossible to accept and understand. So Osserman has reacted by deleting every image of himself wearing Napoli kit on his Instagram. There's reports of the Nigerian has fallen out with new Napoli manager Rudy Garcia. It's his relationship with Napoli beyond repair. What happens next? I've heard that the owner, Orelio De Laurentis, over the last transfer when they've set a price for Osserman at just ridiculous levels, close to 200 million euros has been discussed. He scored tonight with no emotion, as Napoli beat Udenazi 4-1. How does this get resolved in the January transfer when they're, what are you hearing from his agent and from your sources right now? Look, there are two different ways to see this story. The first way is the reality today is that Napoli and Victor Osserman's camp will discuss about the situation and will try to fix the situation. Let's see if it's going to be a legal action or a direct contact, but for sure that your parties will speak in the next days. We will see what happens. But I think the other way is the most important and is that something is not working between Victor Osserman and Napoli, but already since July, not today, not after this TikTok. The situation was really complicated after winning the title, because what happened is that Victor Osserman is out of contract in summer 25, so it's kind of dangerous situation for Napoli because it means that you could lose the player on a free in one year, in 15 months, and so it's a very dangerous situation when we mention a player like Victor Osserman and what's going on is that Napoli turned down all the approaches during the summer. Nothing special from Europe, because as you said, the president wanted 200 million euros, not close to 200 million euros guaranteed for my source of support. They are correct. They are, they are. And so nothing from Europe, but from Saudi, Alilal before signing Mitrovich and before signing Neymar Junior, they wanted Victor Osserman. They were prepared to pay more than 150 million euros, a crazy salary to the player, but Napoli said no. But in that moment, they didn't have an agreement with the player to extend the contract. And that's the issue. At the moment, there is still no agreement between Victor Osserman and Napoli on contract extension. There is a tense situation between Osserman and the manager, a tense situation between Osserman and the club, now after the stictok story. And so I think that in summer 24, because in general it's going to be difficult to sell the player, I think, very complicated for Napoli fans to accept that. But in the summer, I think Osserman is going to be one of the big names on the market. Ask any soccer fan what they crave most. And the answer is going to always be global and domestic football news from across that great Star Wars cantina that is well football. What are you not? Tonight, 8.30pm Eastern time in the United States. It's the US Open Cup Final. I adore this historic tournament that's America's version of the FA Cup. 99 teams entered. Across our nation to a left. Houston. And into Miami. Yes, into Miami. Of Lionel Messi, Faye Messi, who has to be said, has been battling injury of late. We don't know exactly. What ails him right now. The club have just said. Leo is still dealing quote with his old scar tissue. Messi set out. The weekends draw at Orlando City. Coach Tata. Martino has been cagey about whether Lionel Messi will play tonight. And how long exactly he can play. Fab, what have you heard if anything about what Messi's suffering from and what this current reality is? Look, they're trying to do some tactics around this injury of Leo Messi. And I think it's obvious when you have an important game to do something like that. What I'm hearing is that it's nothing serious. Let's see if it's going to play from the start from the first minute. But I'm sure that Messi will have the opportunity to play this game. Let's see how many minutes. But the feeling is that Messi will be there. So that's the feeling of people close to him. Then let's see a couple of hours and it will be clear. But from what I'm hearing is nothing serious and Messi wants to be there. You know, if Messi is injured and we have no idea how badly. We have no idea right now how much more he will be able to play this season. And it does beg the question. If Messi is knocked out for any length of time, this giant big bright spotlight that he shone globally on MLS will go out with him. And first of all, in speaking to agents, how much have you found that Messi being an MLS has made them take MLS more seriously as an option for their clients? Now, that completely changed the feeling around the movement. Honestly, and around the league, it's very clear. I think this is, as you mentioned, not just a fantastic player, but a fantastic news for the World Movement and for the World League because agents are now really considering this opportunity. Not just for players who are at the end of their career, but also important players who could consider that kind of move. As a player already did before Messi, like Lorenzo and Signe and many others, of course, was not a lucky one in Toronto, but in general, the idea to join MLS now is completely different since Leo Messi decided to join in Termaillani. So I think we will see many other talents, for example, also from Argentina, as it happened for Faku Farias and many others, moving to the MLS. And I think this is just the beginning. Yeah, so let's talk about names because MLS globally is still seen as a one-man league. You know, and a one-man league is a real gamble. You know, an injury, a loss of form, whatever. You know, hopefully Messi is just the beginning. So who would you imagine could be the next big name? Not just the next good player, but the next big name that could arrive on the shores following Messi and arriving here in the United States? I will still keep an eye on a player who was linked with the MLS move in the summer, then it didn't happen. But I think Luis Suárez remains a very concrete name who can join MLS in the next month, within Termaillani, obviously, as big favourites, as big friend of Leo. So I think Luis Suárez has a big opportunity to move there from January. And we will see others. For example, I'm still healing that in June, end of June, beginning of July, a fantastic player like Antoine Griezmann was approached by Saudi clubs and he said, no, no way. I want to continue the Athletico Madrid. I love Athletico Madrid. But in his mind, the idea to try and experience in MLS has always been there and is still there. So let's say when, because now obviously it's a crucial player for Athletico, but I think in the future Griezmann could be the next superstar to try this opportunity. Yeah, there's one thing. Saudi League may have infinite money, but it doesn't have the NBA, and it doesn't have the NFL. I've got a feeling we will see Antoine Griezmann coming over here to play football by watching both of those on the regs and we'll be all the better for it. But you talk about the Saudi League, Fab. You know, all kinds of rumors emerging from there will get into one in a moment, but big picture. You know, a ton of players, this first wave, have gone out to Saudi Arabia now. You know, they have, they've experienced the reality of it for the first time. And I've spoken to a couple of agents who've told me that the money is amazing, but the infrastructure, you know, the training infrastructure, the match day reality, they're not so great. You know, Jotter already left. What are you hearing as the reality of the league collides with, you know, the idea originally sold to the agents? Is the word of mouth for the players who are there? Is it good or is it bad? Look, some players are not so happy, as you mentioned, not just with the infrastructure and these kind of things, but also with the personal life. Because, you know, when a player is moving to another country and trying a different opportunity, you also have your family, your wife, your kids, and this is really important to have a good private life and not just a good contract. And that could be an issue for some players, it's been an issue till now. Then, I think there is another crucial point and it's about the managers. You can bring many important players, but you need important managers too, to help these players to perform, to have good training sessions, to improve these players. Some of these players are not in the final part of their career. Some of them, like Gabriel Vega and many others, need to have important coaches to help them. So I think the next step has to be the managers, because it's really important for important players to have big and good managers to develop. So there are still some things to do to bring this league to the super level. It's going to be a long way, as you mentioned. The salad is amazing, but there are many, many things to do. What's the story with Neymot or the truth with Neymot? A lot of tabloid talk, a lot of rumour. The player himself trying to put out this spell, some of that rumour. What are you hearing about his frustration? Now, honestly, I was checking this and I'm told some people close to the player that this is not true, that we had some stories about a fight with the manager Jorge Jesús. I'm told that this is not true. Neymar is always in the rumours. When he's not scoring goals, we always have his name in the rumours. He could be in France, in Spain, in Saudi or whatever. But Neymar is always in the rumours. The reality is that he's adapting to something new, also on the personal point of view, not just on the professional point of view. So it's normal that he's taking some time. It's completely different style of life. So Neymar is adapting, but I'm told that this is something absolutely normal. It's a process and not something that is with problems, with the culture, with the team. It's not at all. January transfer window opens January 1st, 2024. 96 days away, Fab. What will we see as the coming big story? What will the biggest story in the next window be? I think it'll be Vantoni. From Brentford to some big big club. Because many big clubs are interested. In Vantoni, he will be back after the ban and I think it's a big opportunity for him, because he decided to change sages. So in August, he appointed new agents. He wants a new opportunity. He wants to try a top-top club with all the respect for Brentford. But he wants to win. He wants to compete for important titles. Arsenal already asked for information, in terms of conditions of the deal. Same happened with Chelsea. So both London clubs are interested in the situation. Let's see if Tottenham will do the same. At the moment from what I'm hearing, Tottenham is not going for any concrete talk in this case. But let's see what happens, because it's still September and they have three months to decide what they want to do on this deal. But for sure, our channel Chelsea are interested. And I think Tottenham really wants to leave and try a new opportunity. We will see how much money Chelsea decided to spend round it up to the nearest billion. But it's the truth. You know, he did a putting out feelers for a new goalkeeper. A yanob like, for instance. Aunana already in the upside down. No, no, it's not true. Also, so this story, I was checking about being denied this story on all sides. Players side, United side, let's call side. Also, United spent big money on Andreonana. And that it's a nice trust on Anana. I think I know Anana very well as a guy. And that's a goalkeeper, because he was here in Milan playing for Inter. He needs to feel the confidence. And if he feels the confidence, he's a fantastic goalkeeper. One of the best in the world. And I think he's worth the money paid by Manchester United this summer. But he needs to feel the confidence of the fans of the stadium. That's really crucial for him. He's a very nice guy. But he needs to feel the confidence around him. And Inter fans laughed him because they needed a change. I hope that my United fans will do the same for Anana because he would perform on top of him. Remsdale appears to have lost this star in place. In one of the stories of the season two, David Raya. Do you expect there to be some movement there? Something we couldn't have even imagined even two months ago. Could Aaron Remsdale be available in January? I think it's a possibility he's not guaranteed yet. Because let me say that from what I'm hearing, from my sources close to Arsenal, and close to some players, I'm told that he's being super professional. He's not an easy moment for him. Of course, when you have a goalkeeper like Raya, entering in competition with you. But Remsdale is being super professional, supportive with Raya, perfect in training. So Arsenal are very happy with his behaviour. So I'm not sure that he's going to be generally transfer window also because, you know, the goalkeeper's market is kind of domino. So we have some moments where the goalkeepers are moving and some moments where the goalkeepers are just waiting for the next move. And I'm not sure that in January is going to be easy to find an agreement with Arsenal or to find a solution for Remsdale. But in the summer, if the situation will continue like this with Raya, I think it's a concrete possibility to see Remsdale looking for a new opportunity. Fab, we've got time for one question from a fan. Come on up. At bad played attitude. You are. And what's your question for the gorgeous Fabrizio Ruvani? Hey, Raj, hey, Fab. My original question was going to be about Ivan Tony but Fab already took that. So I was wondering if Arsenal would be planning to strengthen and midfielder defence in January, if there's any rumors around that? Hello, my friend. Thank you for the question. And I think it's a possibility for them to do something. I think it's going to be crucial to see where they are in all the competitions if they will go to the knockout stages in the first position in the group. In Champions League and same for Carabal Cup. So it's going to be important to see where they will be in January. At the moment, Arsenal are not in a rush. You know, also in August, when Timber got that injury, they were not in panic. They were like, okay, if we have an opportunity in the final days on the market, we will do that. Otherwise, we're happy with the squad we have. And so, at the end, they decided to stay with the same squad. So at the moment, there is nothing advanced. For sure, Tony is one of the names. They have in the list, as I mentioned, before they are really interested in Tony. They will decide to proceed with the negotiation or not. And in terms of midfield, I think it will depend on Georgiño situation. If there will be some beats for Georgiño. At the moment, they are still back in Georgiño and support in Georgiño. But I think for the new midfielder, it really depends on him and on defender. They want to wait for Timber. They believe that Timber is going to be a top-top player for the next five, six, seven years. So they want to wait for him. Oh, gorgeous human being. Bad playing attitude. You get two subscribes. Two here we go. It's honestly, it's my favorite podcast in the world. It's all the better because it does not have my voice on it at all. It's in a separate feed to many Blazers.
