Pod, they were David later today for a full breakdown of this weekend's Premier League action. But for now, here it is, the series premiere of Men in Blazers, early kickoff. Good morning, it is time for the series premiere of early kickoff from the Men in Blazers media network. Give us around 10 minutes and we'll give you all your global football stories straight from the back pages of Europe's newspapers. It's Sammy James here on Monday, September the 18th and coming up this morning, Arsenal keep up the pressure at the top after a narrow winner, Everton. Following Balligan gets his first goal for Monaco and find out why 15 players from a Spanish Liga club nearly missed their game this weekend. Well, we'll start off with Everton's defeat at home to Arsenal. Sorry, Roger. That was the Belgian wizard Leandro Trossard with an absolute rocket for Arsenal, finding the net following a well-worked corner routine to give the gunners their first win Everton in six years. Michelartetta's side show determination, patience and class. However, they found it difficult to pierce through Everton's defense for much of the game. A minus of very dubious to Corre penalty appeal, the Toffy's didn't pose really any threat. Here's Badge from Everton fan channel ToffyTV, who says it's not the loss itself which is disappointing, but the manner of the loss. I accept when teams are better than us, and you're after all your hands are passing away better than us, but we've had a very good record against them in recent times. Today, it was so timid. It's gone from bad to worse for struggling Everton, who have now lost four of their opening five games for the first time since the 05-06 season. And on Friday, Farhad Machiri agreed to sell his 94% stake in the club to American investment fund 777 Partners, an investment firm facing allegations of fraud, offering illegal loans and failings of paid bills, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars in the US, all of which 777 Partners denies. Back on the pitch, here's what former Premier Leagueman fielder Jemaine Genus, speaking on BBC's match of the day, thought about where Everton's issues lie. Today, they'd just like that biggest thing that they've always had, which is the ability to get that crowd going. It was like a public park. I've never heard of some parks so quiet ever. On Sunday, it was another bad one for Chelsea. They were held to a nil nil draw by Bournemouth on the South Coast, with the back-page headlines focused on Chelsea's many shortcomings rather than the plucky performance by Bournemouth. Many Chelsea fans seem to be losing their patience already with Portardino. It's only been five games. Here's YouTuber and Chelsea fan Rory Jennings giving his damning verdict on the game. There is nothing unexpected about Chelsea drawing with Bournemouth. Chelsea are undoubtedly one of the worst teams in the league. We are pitiful. We are lost. We are rudderless. We are totally hopeless. Meanwhile, down in La France. Ballagon. Ballagon! That was following Ballagon, the Brooklyn-born striker, grabbing his first goal for his new club, AS Monaco, on Sunday, in an away match at FC L'Oreal. Now, Ballagon moves to the principality for around $45 million in the summer, and he is off the mark after just two substitutes appearances. Now, that goal you just heard was to put Monaco 2-1 up, with just over 20 minutes to play, but the game did end 2-2. After Romain Fev, the Frenchman-filled are on loan from Bournemouth equalised eight minutes into added time. Monaco, though, still remains top after PSG lost a niece on Friday night. That was Inter putting a fifth goal past AC Milan in the Milan derby as they slaughtered their fiercest neighbours 5-1 on Saturday. It was a tough night for the USMNT captain Christian Policic, as he was subbed off in the 56th minute for Samuel Choukwese whilst AC were 2-0 down. Now, according to Sky Sport in Italy, Choukwese is likely to get the nod over Christian in Tuesday's Champions League game against Newcastle, which kicks off at 12.45pm Eastern time. Also in Italy, Yuve beat Lazio 3-1 on Saturday, with Western McKenney starring on his 100th Serie A appearance. Western assisted Yuve III, and he thrived in a quite unfamiliar right-side midfield role. Interestingly, DeZone reported that Lazio were incensed by the goal the McKenney assisted, as they believed the ball had gone out of play just before Western played the key pass. And I've seen the replay, they kind of have a point, to be honest. Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri even refused to speak at the post-match press conference as he was so furious with the decision. Back on Western, though, here's Italian football expert Marco Messina on CBS Galatso praising McKenney's impact. It must have been a tough summer for him not knowing where he's going to go, so for him to come in in this match and do this well in a new position for Juventus is amazing. Well, let's go back to the Premier League. As although Sunday was a bit of a snooze fest, Saturday was anything but, and we have to start with Brighton and Hove Albion's brilliant 3-1 win at Manchester United. Here's X United legend Gary Neville on Sky Sport singing the praises of the Seagulls. They dismantled Manchester United yesterday, and that is definitely the right word, they dismantled them. And it was what most Manchester United fans before the game thought might happen, did happen, which is worrying. Now, the letters section on football 3-6-5 was an interesting place this morning to gauge some feeling on Manchester United fan thoughts. One fan called Hugo wrote, it's a matter of time. Ten hug is going to be sacked, it's going to happen. Just rip the band aid off now while we still have a chance of a top half finish. Brutal from Hugo who is looking into the future and he's not seeing good things. Now, Man United played Bayern in Germany on Wednesday in the Champions League, it kicks off at 3pm Eastern time, it's live on Paramount Plus. Given Bayern's strong start in the Bundesliga, I think this one could get messy. Meanwhile, over at Spurs. Now, if you ever wondered what us Brits are referring to when we say the word, limbs. This is probably what it sounds like. This was Spurs' iconic South Stand reacting to Dejan Kula-Sewski's 90-plus-10 winner against Sheffield United as two goals in added time maintained Spurs' unbeaten start. And the limbs, inverted commas, weren't confined to North London. Here's what they sounded like in a Spurs bar in Washington, D.C. Now, before the game, much of the attention was on Richarlison, who said before the match that he will see a therapist in the UK after struggling with off-the-pitch issues during his time with Brazil in the international break. It was Richarlison, who scored the all-important equaliser in this game. And this is what his manager, Agposta Coglu, said about his situation afterwards. For Richie, he was more about his footballs good. He's a good player, he's contributing, he's always a threat. And I'm hoping that now he sees that this is one part of his life where he doesn't need the stress about it. And he's keep working hard, keep doing what he's doing. And then the other stuff that he's got in his life, I think he'll be able to deal with better. What would you need to say to WOOOOO! That was Atlanteanite's Tyler Woolf, finally the net in style with a superb finish, capping off a resounding 5-2 victory over Lionel Messi's into Miami. A big blow to Miami's playoff hopes. Now, Messi didn't make the squad in Atlanta, despite many home fans shelling out hundreds of dollars and travelling hundreds of miles to catch Lionel in the flesh. Miami coach Tata Martino said after the loss that Messi had been recovering from muscle fatigue, and that it would have been very reckless to play him in this game. It was into Miami's first loss since the arrival of Lionel Messi and his former Barcer teammates. And the defeat leaves Miami seven points off the Eastern Conference playoffs with seven games remaining. Sounds like a movie script to me. Well, let's quickly round up a few more of the weekend stories and let's start with Liverpool, who are the comeback kings once again as they won 3-1 at Wolves. The home side will won a lap at the break, and this was Jürgen Klopp's thoughts on that. Oh, I thought in the first half of a couple of times WTF. Liverpool are just two points off Manchester City, who maintained their 100% record with a 3-1 win at West Ham. Enjoyable moments in the stands in this one, as both sets of fans sang the same song at each other. You've got to applaud it. I like the West Ham fans tongue in cheek, but brilliant at the same time. In Spain, there were wins for both Barcer and Real Madrid, Barcelona thumbed Real Bessies at 5-0, with new Portuguese signings for Alphelix and Schraub can sell on the score sheet. Alongside, Robert Lewandowski, who put in an absolute masterclass up top. Real Madrid's win was much tighter, coming from behind to beat Real sausages at 2-1 at the Bernabéu, and they did it for once without Jude Bellingham getting on the score sheet. Elsewhere in Spain, Mason Greenwood made his debut for Gatafé against Ossasuna, the first competitive game the Manchester United Lone has played in, since his attempted rape allegations came to light over a year and a half ago. Mason came on in the 77th minute, and according to Sidlo in the Guardian, a small pocket of Ossasuna fans, chanted for him to die before those chance were immediately drowned out by whistles from the Gatafé fans. Right now though, let's head over to Rome. Yes, that was the carcou, grabbing his first for Roma as they trounced Emily 7-0 for their first win of the season. And in Germany, the top two of Bayern Munich and Bayern Levacus played on Friday night and it ended in a brilliant 2-2 draw. The weekend opened the scoring and Munich looked set to win until Ezekiel Palacios equalised from the penalty spot for Levacus and four minutes into added time. Finally, a quick mention for Rexham as Robin Ryan's side won their third game on the bounce, with Saturday's 3-0 win over Grimsby moving Rexham into the top six in league two. Star Striker Paul Mullin made his first start for the Red Dragon since injury, and he particularly enjoyed the celebrations. Now for this final story, we need to begin with a quick, urgent announcement. This is the final boarding call for all passengers travelling from Les Palmas to Seville. Your gate is about to close or repeat. Your gate is about to close. Thank you. That's what 15 of the Les Palmas players would have likely have heard on Saturday, as nearly the entire squad missed the plane that they were taking for Sunday's game in Seville. Now, Les Palmas are based in the Canary Islands and they have to fly to all their matches in mainland Spain. And this weekend, shortly before boarding, a large chunk of the squad went to get a coffee. This is according to Spanish sports radio programme, Carousel Deportivo, who said the group got lost looking for a hot drink. And then they couldn't get back to their gate in time. As a result, the plane departed without them. And Les Palmas chiefs were forced to charter a private flight to reunite the missing 15 with their teammates. And sadly, the weekend didn't get any better as they lost 1-0 to Seville. Hopefully they made it back to the gate on time for their flight home.
