Episode 142 | PEPE & $hitcoin Season 2023 | The Fate of Keen's Ape | Star Wars x Cryptoys |
Welcome back to another episode of NFT Catch Your Podcast.
We'd like to remind everybody that nothing on the show is meant as financial advice.
And please do your own research.
Thank you and enjoy the show.
Now the subject is NFT.
They're known as non-fungible tokens or NFT.
NFTs are floating in popularity.
This is a technology that will forever change the way people interact.
So it is happening whether you understand it and like it or not.
This phenomenon is moving the digital field.
You have now joined Jenny from the blockchain and Michael P on the NFT Catch Your Podcast.
What's up everyone and welcome back to another episode of the NFT Catch Your Podcast with
me Jenny from the blockchain and my co-host Michael Keene.
Today it's just me and Michael for our Sunday recap.
You know a rare thing these days.
Just the two of us.
But actually before we go any further I did want to, I know we've shouted this out in
an interview but I know people don't always listen to the interviews and they listen to
the Sunday recaps more.
So I just wanted to shout out the two people that wrote a review.
Again shout out to Antonio Sosa for saying great for learning about NFTs.
I'm a beginner and I love how Michael Keene and Jennifer Sudo packaged the complex topic
for me to understand.
So thank you so much for writing that.
And then also apparently Spotify reviews are a thing now.
So we got our first like Spotify review and the showroom guy said Michael and Jenny and Andy
was doing a great job.
Wish they were podcasting every day.
Thanks for what you all do.
Which we actually have been podcasting a lot.
I feel like it feels like every day lately.
But yeah we've been recording a lot of episodes for you guys.
So excited to put those out.
Yeah we've been recording a lot.
We have two in the can still.
We have it we're ahead too.
And we put out what was it that it was like oh we put out like five episodes in the can.
We put out nine in April which is our home.
Nine in April.
We did nine in a month before.
Right.
Oh really?
Why does that not seem like that many?
I think eight was what we were maxing before.
Oh okay.
We'll have to look it up.
Andy would know better than me.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
We've been cranking though.
It's because we started giving we started putting out our calendly to our prospective guests
which was a really good idea.
And people just they you know like you said we have a lot of availability so people have
been like grouping them together.
We had two in one day on Thursday.
Yeah we started getting overbooked with podcasts.
So but it's all good.
We've been crushing the guests like all fun people and really good really good stuff.
It's been fun.
Mm-hmm.
But yeah like I was saying I feel like the bear market is the best time to get people
on your podcast because it's like people have more time on their hands.
They're not as busy.
They're more willing to like go on people's shows you know so yeah it's a good time.
Yeah when you're when you're a ten-eath floor a fifteen-eath floor you're like eh I don't
need to go on that show.
When you're down at two point six.
Oh you throwing shaded doodles.
No no.
No.
I'm just talking about.
Okay oh you know what we need to talk because the last Sunday that we didn't know the Sunday
before that we were talking about literally the episode titled Teens board ape dilemma
and it's been two weeks Michael what we need an update what's going on with your body.
Here's where I'm at.
I think I wanted to wait to see if it would bounce a little bit with these blur things
and now it hasn't and it's even kind of inching down a tiny bit more.
I'm leaning towards selling tomorrow morning.
I'm just having a hard time.
I keep having a hard time pulling a trigger.
One of my best friends my buddy Manny who's been a board ape as long as I have and always
used to like say never sell never sell it like when we're riding it up sold his just
a few days ago.
Oh wow.
I know.
Did he know that you were thinking about selling yours?
I don't think so.
Well no no he did he did because we talked about in DMs we talked about in DMs.
Yep.
Oh wow.
So he let me know he was selling his for a while like he had it like 20th above floor
but I gotta look it's probably probably sold it close to floor.
Mine's probably a floor right?
I don't have enough clout to make like mine.
And he just typed in the chat.
What in all caps?
Oh about Manny probably yeah Manny sold his he DMs yesterday.
So I think it makes sense like I don't want to sit on this thing if it's going to inch
down and inch down.
You know what's crazy is that there's literally a DMT fur on the floor right now like on open
seat and it's like I was just thinking about this the other day like people used to value
traits and like the rarity like so much more than they do now because they realized oh
it's purely aesthetics like it doesn't get you more perks for owning something more rare
like people are just kind of like you know the utility is the same no matter the rarity
whereas you know it was a flex is what it was and then the whole morning maybe I think
so I think I'm going to load it off and fire it out.
Oh my gosh it's for what like floor above floor.
Yeah I mean if I put it above floor there's a good chance you just won't sell so I mean
I can try it's not really going to be up to me I'll start it above floor a little bit.
Yeah.
And then it's going to the real shame if it's going to be if you look at my cool cat it's
traded hands like 50 times since.
Hopefully your body goes to a good home.
Wait what number is yours?
It's not.
What number is yours?
If anyone wants to buy it.
You have hair enough.
I should know this.
I should know this off.
Offhand.
No I don't know my dual number it's fine.
But we're going to have to.
You guys may be seeing a different cover art.
I kind of like that I kind of like that Eagle one that I sent you.
Oh yeah that was cool.
I think if we if I do sell it I think we should do like a limited edition round of like a
hundred shirts and put them on Spotify as Shopify or something like a hundred shirts
of the old logo that'll never be made again and then we can do some stuff with the new
logo.
Or we should do like a pull up of the old logo or something.
That's a good idea.
That's a good idea.
And NFT.
Yeah.
What a number.
Charge point two five each.
What we're on episode.
This is one forty two I believe 42.
So we're getting close to one fifty which is going to be right after a V con.
We have to write it.
Yeah.
One fifty.
Yeah.
It's pretty wild.
Can you believe we've done a hundred and fifty episodes.
I know it's crazy.
It is crazy.
It's pretty crazy.
It's a lot of time.
That's a lot of days.
Yeah.
Yeah.
One hundred fifty hours.
Just recording.
We need to clone our voices because Andy has our individual voice tracks like we could
easily pop them into AI and have our voices.
Oh my gosh.
I'm scared.
I'm scared.
Okay.
You clone your voice.
I want to clone.
I want to clone my voice.
How about that AI song?
Did you see somebody created a Drake, another Drake AI song of him rapping about Pepe coin?
I saw that that happened.
I did not listen to it yet.
I was listening to it.
It's pretty good.
I think it's pretty funny.
I don't know.
I think it's very creative of people to like do that through using AI.
But it's also like I'm sure the artists are probably like mad.
Yeah.
They're going to have to figure out that's going to have to be figured out.
Yeah.
But to do, I mean, it's going to happen with actors and actresses too.
And you don't need the actors anymore because.
Or like videos.
Yeah, movies.
All that.
Everything.
Yeah.
Well, maybe they'll like people maybe it'll be like you can sell the your IP of yourself
to AI.
I don't know.
I don't know how that will work, but kind of reminds me of NFTs in a way.
But speaking of Pepe, it's shit coin season folks.
How much do you have?
I'm not.
I'm not much of a shit coin or to be honest.
I don't I tweeted the other day.
I'm like, I I literally don't buy seller trade shit coins.
Like I just am not really that into it.
But it's been taking over the timeline.
Like people are.
And you know what?
I feel like it's going to cause NFTs to drop even more as a result as more people lose
money because you know, you you see a couple of people winning big, but most people do
not win big.
Most people lose, you know, some people break even and then a very small percentage actually
do really well.
Right.
But and then the it's actually a really good point because then the opposite of that talk
about it on Twitter.
Most people lose only a couple people win, but on Twitter, the only people talking are
the ones that winning.
So it seems like everyone's winning.
Yeah.
The people that got swiped out half a million dollars aren't like, you don't want to brag
about like losing money.
That's just that.
It's like, yeah, it makes you sad.
You don't want to tweet about that.
People don't tweet about their losses.
Yeah, which, you know, I mean, it makes sense.
Like, nobody wants to talk about negative stuff, but yeah, speaking of negative stuff,
I wrote that knock amigos all the way up to point nine.
Remember you were like, you should sell it.
I never sold the thing.
You did it.
What's it out now?
Like point one six.
Oh, when do you buy it?
Like for point four, right?
Point three five point three six.
Okay.
So have it.
Yes.
Oh, and Sean.
It's over.
I think it's completely over.
I don't think we'll ever hear about them again.
I think it's completely done.
And there'll be another new one that pops up that's kind of like them, whatever.
It'll be like the next flavor of the month.
Knock amigos is over.
That's my call.
And I own one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm done.
I'm done.
Ski.
Peppy coin seems like it's got a chance there, right?
So that has been really like it's, it's not often that a meme coin or shit coin, whatever
you want to call it really takes off like that.
But I think it's even, isn't it listed on Binance?
I thought I saw on Twitter.
I think they did.
I think that happened on Friday.
If I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, which doesn't like legitimize it.
It just means that there's a lot of people trading Peppy coin and obviously Binance wants
to be there to be a part of the action.
But yeah, I mean, it really skyrocketed.
It went crazy.
There was so much commotion about it.
Oh, you have your, your tweet that you put in the, in the discord about loopify making
a video on.
Oh, here's how you can create a shit coin.
Yeah, right.
A minute and yeah.
So I think we're going to see a lot.
Everyone's going to try to follow the success of Peppy coin, which it's like, it's one of
those things where every once in a blue moon, something really blows up and does really,
really well.
And then everything else tries to.
That's what happened with the board.
Same exact thing.
Board apes crushed it.
Then you had a million sloppy sloths and you know, yeah.
And then it's just like, just trying to chase that.
All these coins.
Yeah.
Andy's dropping a coin.
Everybody should keep, keep an eye out for it for the pre-sale coming soon.
Andy's job.
Andy, all the send you Andy is not dropping a coin.
And my goal is just a liar as you all are well.
It's called the dollar sign.
It's called the dollar sign Andy.
The dollar sign.
The Andy took the Andy took and he had a dollar sign.
Oh, yeah.
I have you bought any type.
Are you in the chickens at all?
No, I should, I should have.
I mean, it's too.
I don't like to mess with something once it already blows up and everybody's talking
about it.
Then you're just gambling, you know.
Yeah.
I wouldn't mind getting in early on something like that.
We talked about Pepe like two weeks ago.
I know.
Like when it first kind of popped off, but we, I don't know.
It was like, it was just one of those things you didn't think it was really going to pop
off even more.
Let's see what it's doing right now.
Yeah.
I mean, it's, I guess not, it's in Shen down a little bit over the last few days.
But now I mean, it crushed it.
Whoever was in it, it's still like one.
It's still like 200,000ths of a penny per total.
I know it's so crazy.
Right.
The pricing cracks me.
I know everyone's like, we're going to get to a dollar.
Yeah.
What if it goes to a penny?
You know, yeah.
Yeah.
Like ball reach one penny.
That's all I need to go to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's all.
You know, it's if it goes to one penny, that's like a hundred X like people be going nuts.
Yeah.
It's been cool seeing people's like success story with it though and being able to make
a lot of money.
Yeah.
Like I saw Kay Money, he said that he did really well on Peppa and he was actually, he's buying
his, he said, I'm buying my sister a car.
And he's going to like give his dad money for helping him out, buying him Rolex that
he lost like does all this stuff.
And it's cool seeing people like helping out their family and, you know, doing good with
the profits from literally just a coin.
It's crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is pretty wild.
I mean, there's going to be, there's going to be so many of them, but like they do.
They're so volatile.
Like if you can get in and out at the right time, if you're good at trading, like the
reason I'm a little hesitant is because I just don't think I'm like all that.
I don't know enough about these.
Yeah.
For me, it's like, I don't want to support scammers.
Right.
You're also, because I was, oh yeah, I just make money.
It's like, okay, well, who are the people launching these coins?
Like, and then there's been a lot of rugs happening too.
I mean, we could talk about jugs, you know, and, oh yeah.
Did you get in that Twitter space?
I forgot a little doubt that from my news.
I was listening for like 20 minutes and that's really all I needed to hear, but it was all
over Twitter and everyone was talking about jugs.
They had a whole presale, right?
They raised a bunch of money.
And then like 70 ETH, this lady, what's her name?
Bitcoin, Bandy?
Yeah, something like that.
So I guess she was the founder.
She said that so much herself.
At first, she said, oh, I'm not, I wasn't a founder.
I was just promoting.
And then she admitted to being the founder and you can't like launch a crypto coin in
the US because it's like the legal.
Yeah.
And then here was like, lawyer, something like stop incriminating yourself.
Stop talking right now.
She's just making everything so much worse.
And then the devs, because you can send messages on the blockchain.
You can check on Etherscan and you can send messages to people through the blockchain.
So anyway, so the dev was like, all these people are liars.
Like Bitcoin baddies, she's a liar.
She got the money too.
And she was like, oh, the dev took the money and ran.
We don't have the money.
And then the dev was like, they all got the money.
And it's just this whole thing.
And then the exact XBT wrote a whole thread on it.
And yeah, it was just messy.
I can't believe the Jug's coin wasn't legit.
I mean, also, yeah.
I can't believe it.
I can't believe it.
I'm like, you know, Cole Ethereum, who originally created Pudgy Penguins.
Yeah.
He was one of the top holders.
He literally spent 13,000.
He put, yeah, 13,000 into Jug's and it went to 37 cents.
He made a tweet about it.
Just lost all of it instantly.
But yeah.
So it's such a gamble.
I mean, there are like people have literally been making.
I don't want to tell people not to do this kind of stuff because people didn't.
Yeah, I mean, it's risky.
But yeah, like do whatever you want, but just know that it's extremely risky.
And anybody like the whole point of that, I mean, bringing up, oh, you can, here's how
you can make the video of like, oh, how you can make a shit coin in like one minute is
like, there's going to be so many more coins coming out and people are going to be like,
oh, this is the next thing, this next thing.
And it's like, no, easy to launch and create a coin.
It's so easy.
It's easier than even creating an NFT project.
Just say a chat to me too.
Yeah.
Yeah, chat GTP will tell you and everybody keep your eye out for the keen coin coming
soon.
It is not a shit coin.
It's a legit.
It is a true layer one layer one.
What?
I don't know.
Layer one.
Layer one.
One pile of shit.
Yeah.
Just buy it.
Yeah.
Just send the money, send the free sale money.
The white papers coming soon.
Oh, no.
Trust me.
This episode is brought to you by Swoops, a true strategy game for basketball fanatics.
Place whoops is bringing basketball to the blockchain, draft, train and strategize your
way to running the court and winning real money competitions.
Yeah.
Swoops actually has something really cool happening this week.
They have their swooper bowl where the top 64 teams face off in like a March Madness style
bracket.
These games are actually best of three.
So they have all 64 teams.
You have your your seating just like the tournament.
It's pretty cool.
I did not make the tournament.
Sadly, I was ranked about number 100.
You had to be in the top 64.
I still blame when Simmons, my worst player for all of my team's failures.
But the four number one seeds was actually for well, there's a lot of really good teams
that I see a lot that beat me a lot.
But the four number one teams are chef's kitchen, the Denver cyber bombs, north side
416ers and the blockchain burners.
If you want to go on to their website, you can actually watch the tournament happening
this week, watch all the games take place, see the stats, see the players.
That should be really cool.
We all know that the mint is coming up and the best way to get on to that is to go to
their website.
Like we've been saying, you go to the top, click pre-sale, placeoops.com, click presale,
enter NFT catcher.
A lot of people have told me they've done it and they're excited about it.
The mint's coming up.
The mint is 0.05.
Remember, we always say the first one sold out in about 35 minutes.
So we don't know if it's going to get to the public or not.
And also, if you buy during the pre-sale, you have a chance to win one of the two very
special five star players that they're putting in there.
We can now announce the players names.
One of them is Victor WembeƱama.
He's a number one prospect for the NBA draft this year and he's like this seven four unicorn
that can like shoot and dribble.
And he's one of the supposedly one of the best prospects since LeBron or even a better
prospect than LeBron was.
Okay.
All right.
Well, there we go.
Yes, placeoops.com.
And if you sign it for the pre-sale and use the code NFT catcher, you also automatically
get entered to win a season one swoopster as well.
They've had over a thousand people sign up and there's only supply of 1500.
So yeah, make sure y'all are paying attention on Thursday, May 18th for that pre-sale date.
You know, if you're interested in minting.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
There we go, folks.
Now back to the show.
Speaking of buying.
What else we have?
What?
Yeah.
Oh, I was just going to say this is not our episode.
We're really going to talk about Vcom.
We're going to talk about it next Sunday.
So stay tuned.
But I wanted to say I've been buying some.
I love custom merch and I wanted to shout out woven NFT.
They're making me, I mean, I'm paying for it obviously, but yeah, they're making me like
a $230 for a custom woven shirt.
That's how I have my doodle on the front.
It's going to say Jenny from the blockchain on the back.
I'm a pump for it.
I also ordered from NFT shirt digital is their Twitter and they are like hand painting me
a shirt with my doodle on it, Jenny from the blockchain.
I'm just like, I want like stuff that says my name and has my doodle because I don't
know.
I just feel like why not?
Like I should be, you know, and then also doodles came out with new merch folks, new
merch job for anybody that is excited about that.
I was very excited.
I was just telling Michael and Andy that I spent $165 on a doodle's hoodie.
It's their doodles collab with ice cream cones and bones hoodie.
And I also got the skateboard as well.
That was 80 bucks.
So yeah, I need to make a video on Twitter of like all my NFT stuff because I feel like
I have so much.
I just, yeah, I'm like, how much have I spent on NFC merch?
I've definitely spent a solid several thousand.
I thought my $90 Gary Veehody was expensive.
My Jeff Staple one.
$900 Gary Veeh.
No, $90.
$90.
Oh, yeah.
I said, I thought that was a lot.
That's Ricky number.
He's come off.
I know.
Apparently.
I never spent over $100 for a hoodie.
I'll tell you.
I know.
I trust me.
I never had.
I feel like I'm such like, I'm the ultimate like sucker or like consumer for like NFTs.
Like I know, I know.
I know.
It's going to be nice.
You're going to love it.
It's going to be nice.
I'm not to wear it like a thousand times.
Are you worth it?
Yeah.
So yeah, you were saying about V con, you got all your stuff.
You got your panels, but you know, I know.
I have.
Yeah.
I'm going to announce it in the next Sunday's episode, folks.
But I got, I just got my panel aside.
I'm going to announce it in the next Sunday's episode.
But I got, I just got my panel assignments over the weekend.
So I'm moderating two panels and pumped about it.
And if you're coming to V con, yeah, I know.
I told you guys it was on the panels, but I'm pumped.
I'm really pumped.
Stay tuned.
Yeah.
One of those really, really cool this week.
I saw that Star Wars is coming to crypto is.
Yep.
Cryptoids.
Yeah.
Star Wars coming to flow.
24th is their Star Wars.
A lot or drop Star Wars drop.
Yeah.
And they announced it on May 4th and it was really blowing up.
Like everyone was like, oh, yeah.
That's a big deal.
No, like even with Lucky Trader News, who I go through, he'd probably had like, they
probably had like five or six or seven stories over the last few days.
And one of them was that.
So I made the waves.
I mean, Star Wars is as big as it gets.
And that's right.
That's a deal with Disney as well is reading about it.
So yeah, there's probably going to be other stuff with Disney.
I don't know, but no, uh oh, makes sense.
I don't know.
I mean, that's exciting.
I have six.
I have six of my own from the Masters of the universe.
Oh, nice.
Yeah.
I have like, stuff hooked up with most of my things.
Did she?
Oh, she got you with you up.
Okay.
I know they were doing, they did a promo recently where I was like, oh, if you had bought
cubes from certain waves, then they were air dropping you more.
So that might be what I got.
I have so many.
Yeah.
Last I checked, I think I have like 27 like curdles or something.
But I don't know.
I think I might have more from the air drops, but we'll see.
Oh, well, I haven't even opened any of them up yet.
They're all still in the cube.
Yeah.
I have some like in the blister package.
So I'm like, actually all the way open.
And then most of them are like just in the cubes.
Yeah.
I gotta get some of these Star Wars ones.
Yeah.
They're really cool.
They're 24th.
That's what the drop is.
And they have a lot of characters I saw like spanning the whole.
I finally got my son watching Star Wars.
Oh, really?
We are what we watch her turn in the Jedi and like with a job of the hut and the whole
I got him watching that.
Is he into it?
You're gonna have him watch all of them, all of the Star Wars.
I would love to get him to watch all of them.
You know, his attention span isn't quite there yet.
They need to be like action action action action action.
He like, who like turn away if they start talking and getting bored.
Because they like in Star Wars, though like not even talking English, they'll be talking
in like another language to each other.
And he can't read the subtitles yet.
So it's like, okay, that gets a little much.
Right.
How old were you?
When did you get into Star Wars?
Like, I was pretty young watching movies.
My mom would definitely let me just sit in front of the TV and pop movies on the VHS tapes.
You know what they're?
Yes, I used to watch VHS tapes.
I'm sure you did.
I had what I like vintage night in college or something.
No, I literally have.
I actually have a couple.
I have like Honey Ash on the Kids.
I have Swiss family Robinson or something like that.
I have Molly and her dolly VHS, which is what I watch when I was really young.
And I have, I think I have like Shirley Temple and I don't know.
I have I have a little tiny collection.
I don't have any.
I don't have any VHS tapes.
Really?
I don't think so.
Old yellow.
Okay, I'm gonna stop just thinking of all this stuff.
All the VHS.
Are they like at your parents house?
It's like your parents collection.
No, I have them.
No, I literally have bringing them out for you right now.
You have a with you in Laredo?
Huh?
In Laredo.
I'm just kidding.
Laredo.
I'm joking about not giving up your city of where you live.
Oh.
So I'm saying like random weird Texas cities because I said El Paso last week.
You're just exposing.
You're just saying you're like you're doing it.
People are going to figure it out with a process of elimination.
Yeah, I guess.
I'm gonna stop.
Yeah, this city.
I'm gonna stop.
Anyway, it's not that hard.
If you wanted to figure it out, you could.
No, nobody can figure it out.
Speaking of your sisters, she went to a really cool event this week.
Yes.
We'll be talking about her.
That Jeremy Coward event in Nashville where he created 10,000, that 10,000 piece collection
in like 20 minutes.
What do you know about that?
I don't know much about that.
I just know that he was at Vcon and he was taking everybody's picture and then he ended
up minting some of them.
He didn't mint mine, which I was glad because I didn't like my photos.
I mean, he did a good job, but just didn't think I looked good.
But he is really creative and like he, yeah, he's a great photographer.
And then yeah, she went to that event in Nashville and I was like, I didn't even know
that she was going to that.
But I was like, oh my God, let's go.
Yeah, it looked like a lot of fun.
It's cool that it was in Nashville and there was a NFT event in Nashville.
Yeah, and there are two events everywhere.
Yeah, 10k collection.
It's minting on the ninth.
So this episode probably came out on the eighth.
It's minting on the ninth.
It's 0.05 to the moon.
Gary's east.
Not financial advice.
No, never, never.

I mean, it's funny that it's such a weird dynamic with the influencers like talking about,
but like they can't even like talk about something without that being considered an
endorsement once you become like a quote unquote influencer.
Yeah, it's hard.
You have to like with great power comes great responsibility.
Like it is true.
Having more having more of an audience like you you do have to think about that.
Yeah.
You know, yeah.
Yeah, people couldn't even draw a picture with knock amigos on it without people getting

Yeah, the sneakers were cool.
They're just like black and red.
