SEO Secrets Series Part 1: BEFORE You Create, Listen to This

Hello, CEO teachers, and welcome back to this month's exciting theme when it comes to learning all about marketing. We wanted to do something over the course of July that would help you for an entire year in the future. Our main struggle that our students have is with this topic, and can you guess what it is? This search engine optimization, or SEO, not to be confused with CEO, which is Chief Executive Officer, which is what our podcast is named after, but SEO is exactly how your business is going to flourish in the next year. I want to tell you a little story about a girl that started her business online about a decade ago, and after two years she wasn't seeing the success that she wanted to see. So she decided to drive to Valdosta, Georgia, which is about an hour from where she lives now, and go to Books a Million and sit on the floor and research topics that had to do with marketing that could help her business reach new heights. And after she found what she likes to call the Willy Wonka golden ticket of marketing, which is SEO or search engine optimization, her business went from a couple thousand dollars a year to ninety five thousand dollars within a year's time. And that girl, you're looking at, if you're on YouTube today or listening to today, and I want to make sure that I share with you every single strategy that I've learned over the last decade with SEO and how your business can go from just getting started as a teacher selling your resources online to being an online marketing master. So it all starts right here on the CEO teacher podcast, and I'll see you in today's show. So what is SEO? Well, it stands for, as I said before, search engine optimization, but in simple terms, SEO means the process of improving your online presence to increase visibility in Google and other search engines like Pinterest, Etsy, TPPT and so much more. Whenever people search for specific products, we want to make sure that yours are the very first products in every single search, every single time. And the way that we do that is through key words. They continue to play a crucial role in think about it as indexing your products or your web pages. Users should focus on targeting keywords specific to their niche to drive traffic in 2023. Short-tailed keywords make up 8% of search results on Google and my favorite long-tailed keywords make up 50% of search that you have on Google. An average of 75.5% of marketers use keyword research and creating content for consumers and businesses. Did you know that every single thing we do and create has some sort of keyword research behind it? 68% of online experiences begin with search engines and 92.96% of global traffic comes from Google search and Google images. And this is where I love to teach teachers that are just on TPPT or just on Etsy or selling on their own websites is that the entire world still uses Google to find everything, even if you're selling on those websites. They're going to Google first. 92.96% of the entire internet isn't going to just TPPT or just Etsy. They're going to find the best possible answer to the question that they might have. And search engine optimization drives 1000% more traffic than organic social media posts. Meaning you don't even need social media if you can master what I'm going to teach you in the month of July. All aboard the CEO teacher train that's coming by. I've got the windows open and I've got the door, the door wide open. So buckle up. It's about to be loud before we get into today's action tips. I just want to let you know that we are closing down the doors to the CEO teacher membership at the end of the summer for the rest of the year. Search engine optimization does not require a professional to do it for you. I'm not a professional and I do as well as our team do all of our search engine optimization. You can learn to optimize all of your own content. It's actually one of our favorite modules inside of the membership and possibly the most robust module of everything that we teach. And it's definitely the one that is watched the most. So a lot of our, we have over 300 videos inside of our membership. Even if you join our membership and watch our videos, you're still going to have to put in the work to be able to make this work for you. Again, remember we are currently open for enrollment in case you want to join us. We understand inside of the membership, the importance of optimizing everything for our users and we really want to focus on making a streamlined approach to your entire customer journey from where people first find out about you to finally making the sale. We teach you how to do it on your own from keyword research before you create your content, which is key. And we teach you exactly how to name your resources with long-tail keywords, how to optimize all of your images and web pages and so much more. So let's lay out the action tips on how and why you should use search engine optimization. First, you want to find keywords and you're going to use them everywhere. Our favorite website to help us is Uber Suggest and Spooler Alert. It isn't about you when you start your business and it's not about what you want to name things or how you would search for things. It's really about what your customer is specifically looking for. So you have to be clear in your titles and you have to add all the extra toppings in your images as well. Using computer language or the language that our computers speak to each other to save your images, to save your pages, to save your resources, then that's going to help you speak the language of the computer specifically. So why and where are we using keywords? Your audience is looking for a total transformation. Think about weight loss programs. They want you to share the end result when you first get started. So what you're going to do is use your end result inside of your descriptions about your products and services. And to be honest, what can you offer utilizing keywords that can help share a transformation? This is the why you do what you do. Use your keywords in natural language to talk about the transformation and the offer that you provide. We don't want to keyword stuff here. Gone are the days of listing all the keywords at the bottom of a resource or product just to get people to click on it. This is similar to hashtags on social media because people saw that and they thought, well, I'll just grab all these generic hashtags. I'll put them in my post, something does good, and then I'll do that in my products as well. Unfortunately, this is not a very great long-term strategy. And you want to create a streamlined customer journey from the very first search. With the new generation of AI, most search engines can now read screen on the text as well. And many platforms have their very own version of AI and they can read text. So you'll want to know the best practices for your social media or your website to optimize the platform that you're on. This could be different across multiple platforms, but you can make your content work for you. So why are we using keywords? Well, the ultimate goal is to build links back to your offers and to your website. And if you don't have a website already, don't worry. We do have an entire module on our membership that teaches you how to DIY that yourself as well. But it's important that you build this huge foundation of links that it's like a big spiderweb, right? Before joining our membership, you may be taking your noodles of spaghetti. Let's pretend you're cooking spaghetti and you're like, I don't know what to do. I have all of these noodles and all of these things that need to get into place and you throw them up against the wall and they just splatter everywhere. And you're looking at this going, I don't know how to get this together. But as you begin to learn search engine optimization, you take those noodles and you create a beautiful mind map. I like to think of it as an FBI team searching for someone that has committed a great crime. Have you seen it on like those SCI, I don't know, I don't watch, I don't watch these kind of television shows, but where they have all the pictures and then they take the string and they wrap it around the pushpin and by the end of it, all of these connecting dots somehow make this beautiful web and that's exactly how search engine optimization works for you. So when you see things like if you throw spaghetti on the wall, it's all going to fall down if you don't have a clear path to make it all stick. So using SEO is going to help you really connect all the missing pieces. You also need to make sure that you begin to record all of the data so that you know and showing up for our coaching calls every month allows you to do more of what is working. If your audience is is coming to see you through Facebook, then we want to continue to push those things that are working for us. And making your content work for you this summer is our main goal. So just a quick recap, we want to make sure that every single search engine can find you because you're providing value packed, confirmed information utilizing search engine optimization. You want to send your people to a blog post or to your offer versus just to a checkout page. You want to grow your domain authority, which is your website authority over time by creating value packed posts and optimizing your content because the higher your domain authority is, the quicker you will rank on Google. And you also want to be able to expand your reach by understanding the hierarchy of keywords, of long-tailed keywords and short-term keywords because knowing what to put where in your product titles and your descriptions are the reason between our students that are making a couple hundred dollars a month and thousands of dollars a month. I'm so excited to share with you all of the SEO secrets this month as we move into this really cool time of getting you in the membership before school starts back and making sure that this next year is the year that you are going to go from a couple hundred dollars to ninety five thousand dollars.
