My name is Trin and six years ago I set out on a wellness journey. That is still ongoing that I share with you every single Wednesday each and every week but I set out to create my dream life for myself six years ago and the life that I'm living today honestly blows my mind and it is just so crazy what can happen when you believe in yourself, put in hard work, practice gratitude, practice manifestation, all of those good things. So I have completely changed my life around and now I created the wellness cafe to share it with you every single week how you can do the same. I had to give a backstory because the summer episodes always bring in new listeners and especially with the video pod being up and live that may attract new listeners, new members of TWC on YouTube and I don't know about you but whenever I go to click on a podcast or YouTube video or listen to someone's advice I'm always like I always think to myself like okay but why how do how do I know that I can trust your advice so trust me I have done a 180 of my life I used to not take care of myself I didn't have good mental health physical health all the above didn't think very nice about myself and now I live my best freaking life most of the time of course I always keep it real but most of the time I would say I'm doing pretty damn good and and very proud of myself and I am so happy that now I get to share that with you every single week and inspire you as well. Today's episode is a part two to your hot girl summer checklist last week I did a bucket list episode if you missed that episode I would go back and listen to it if you're wondering if you're looking for like activities to do this summer whether it be with friends alone on a rainy day I had a lot of low budget activities that you can do in there and just a lot of ideas to romanticize this summer wherever you live nothing really included going on expensive trips or going out of your hometown I really tried to cultivate a list that can be done and ways to romanticize your life wherever you live but today I asked on the Wallace Cafe Instagram story what you wanted to hear for the hot girl summer checklist so make sure that you are following the Wallace Cafe Instagram if you want to be included in the little polls and questionnaires that I always put out for the episodes because I always like the episodes to be crafted for what you want to hear so you asked for summer favorites healthy recipes for the summer what we are drinking this summer I love that one it made me giggle the question literally said what are we drinking this summer and I just immediately knew that if you ask that you've been along since the January vibes that you know the drill around here summer wellness favorites how to keep up with summer habits and include balance in your life how to have a perfect bikini line and a shaving routine how to have summer body confidence and how to stop comparing yourself to others so I'm going to lay it all down for you today buckle up it's going to be quite the episode I hope you're on a very long hawker walk I hope the sun is shining on your face and the inspo is high but I have the most exciting news in the world thank you my little witchies I honestly think that I get to share this with you today because of you so as we heard last week I did not survive the great presale ticket war for Taylor Swift in Australia but I actually can't control my excitement I somehow did manage to get tickets to the era's tour in Sydney Australia I didn't get the tickets for the show on my birthday but I did get tickets for the show that's all that really matters you know beggars can't be choosers out here it's good enough for me and I'll still get to celebrate my birthday in Sydney if you've been here since the beginning of the show you have heard me talk about how badly I want to go to Australia I literally have upon sorry I have a what that just shows how excited I am I literally have a puzzle of the Bondi icebergs pool on my bar cart because I have been manifesting a trip to Australia to go for a little swim in that pool because as you know I used to be a competitive swimmer swimming is like we are a water baby over here I thrive in the water it has been my bucket list like number one next thing I need to do on my bucket list is to go for swim in the Bondi icebergs pool that may sound so lame to you yes it's my like it's the thing I'm most excited for about going to Australia is to do a lap swim in that pool I don't know call me crazy I've just always wanted to do a morning swim workout there with a sunshine on me do a lap swim and sorry brody also he can't swim so I just realized that brode oh my goodness because I was thinking what is brod going to do when I'm doing my morning lap swim I'm just thriving and brod we're gonna have to do some swimming lessons before that okay anyway sorry I will I will move along to the Hawker summer checklist I'm just so excited and so excited to share it with you because so many of you were sending me witch emojis and you were putting the good energy out there and I got the freaking tickets I don't know how everyone's asking how we got tickets so I will tell you how we did it honestly I do think it was just luck but we had two computers going with four tabs open on each computer two on safari two on chrome and then we had two phones going sorry two iPhones one Samsung so we had quite a few tabs open and I think it's just luck I don't know what happened it was just meant to be but we did get in once and we timed out again which was tragic and after that moment I was basically ready to admit defeat and I thought it wasn't going to happen and we got tickets like after quite a while I forget how long I think it was it was over the two hour mark of looking at the ticket tech lounge loading over and over and over again and then suddenly we just got in again and we got the tickets we secured them I cannot wait I don't know if my Australian ladies my girly pops will be listening to this because I know it's not summer for you right now but if any of you are still listening I am planning on doing the cutest little wellness day to you see meet up in Sydney and I don't know yet where else we're going to be going but I hope that we can visit more cities in Australia as well and do more meetups and I can't wait to meet you all IRL and I also have one last on the plane tell her to go for it I met my husband sorry I met my now husband seven years ago spontaneously on New Year's Eve while I was living in Chicago and he was visiting his family and lived in California we headed off and went on a date the next day and decided to keep in touch I flew out to California to hang out with him two months later on a whim and now we have been together for seven years and married for almost two always take that chance because you never know oh my goodness this like it's so freaking cute I love that story so if you're listening if you send in the question if checklist to live your best life be magnetic radiant confidence glow from within skin is a glowing fun is being had the girls are girlying that's our vibe okay so let's get into the checklist on how you can cultivate this energy I wrote it all out on my phone so I don't miss anything we're going to start and jump right in with summer favorites what trends I'm loving what you need to get on and number one thing on the list right now I am obsessed with dainty bow details honestly I just bought three why did I need three I don't know three brand new shirts with little tiny dainty bows on the middle like in between your chest I love them on shirts I love them on skirts even in your hair the girls who have been doing little ribbons in their pigtails or at the end of their braids in their hair I think dainty little bow details are the cutest thing ever it really just embodies that coastal cowgirl trend cottage core and I love I think it's the cutest I am headed to the Calgary stampede this weekend so if you see me with tiny little bow ties in my hair you know that I'm vibing okay and actually I meant if you see me on social media with bow ties in my hair you know I'm vibing but also if any of you see me at the stampede please come say hi because I love meeting you in real life because honestly truly like I think we are friends too so never be afraid to come say hi to me because if I knew that you were a member of TWC I would come say hi first so trust me just come say hi I get so many messages that say like I saw you here today but I was too nervous to come say hi seriously please always come say hi never never be afraid next up I I don't know what it is I'm in my at leisure summer I haven't been getting dressed up to do fancy things a lot like I've really been having a wellness girl summer where I do my morning routine I do my night routine and in the day I go out and do something active in at leisure so I love love love love a shrug or a bolero whatever you want to call it Lulu just dropped a shrug and I have been saving a gift card that I have for Lulu for so long and I'm literally on my way to buy it like I need it I just I love a shrug it's the cutest thing ever when you don't want to wear a sweater but you want to like flex the sports bra and then you just have like the little shrug for over your shoulders I just think a shrug is the cutest thing ever when I like something I could probably talk about it for 45 minutes but just picture this morning hawker walk you have a little bit of a breeze because it hasn't warmed up yet sports bra throw on your shrug put your mini braids in wear a little hat bring your water bottle listen to the wellness cafe it is a vibe my next current favorite that has been coming everywhere with me is electrolytes I don't know what it is I bring them to the gym and after I go in the sauna I pop in some electrolytes into my water bottle they taste good they're refreshing they're healthy you feel good getting hydrated we just went on a road trip for the long weekend to the Okanagan and I brought my electrolytes with me because if you are drinking and you are over the age of 22 I feel like that's when it started actually honestly maybe 20 if you are in your 20s you know that hangovers are no joke anymore I just I can't kick it like I used to when I was 18 I don't know what's going on especially for Brodie his hangovers I swear they have started lasting a week and it's really getting to him so for any of my 25 year olds let me know if hangovers are absolute hell when you cross 25 but electrolytes have been my saving grace for hangovers especially but even just extra hydration in the summer if you're outside getting hot or sweaty you're working out outside you should definitely make sure you're staying hydrated and electrolytes have been a great way to do that for me next up I'm sorry these are kind of in a weird order I didn't really categorize them I should of but next I have linen pants so get this the Eritrea clientele sale was happening what was it two weeks ago now and I brought Brodie with me and I really wanted these black linen pants because you know me big pants I love a big pant small shirt kind of vibe and I'm trying on these linen pants and Brodie sees a pair right next to them I'm absolutely searing Brodie in today's episode he picks up these pants and he goes holy shit I've really been looking for light white linen pants like this and ladies Brodie bought his first pair of Eritrea pants he kind of started like I got him a super puff which was actually like the mr. super puff for boys but I've been trying to get him onto Eritrea clothes because they are unisex and ladies if you don't like your man style you just dress them up as your little puppet as your little Kendall I'm sorry I had an energy drink before today's episode but back to the linen pants linen pants are a vibe and what I meant to say is that now Brodie and I both found a pair of linen pants that day that we liked and we actually just share them Rachel was here two weekends ago and her Brodie and I went out for dinner and hung the walk home we realized that all three of us were wearing my pants so if you want Eritrea linen pants talk your boyfriend into buying them say they'll look really good on him and then you already know you steal them does anyone else do that when you buy a present for your boyfriend that actually you just really want but linen pants are a vibe and then I've been pairing it with the top with like a little dainty bow detail on it obsessed next up summer favorites orange nails I always love orange I feel like oranges also like the color of the wellness cafe because I am an orange girly in the summer it speaks to me but this is the first time that I've had orange nails and my life and my mood have been better since getting these orange nails so if you don't know what to get for your next manicure I would highly recommend orange nails just go for it I love it they make me happy they make me feel like I am full summer vibes obsessed next summer favorite this isn't really a favorite this is something I always forget so I'm here to remind you and remind myself is putting sbf on your lips because I'm very good at doing my face sbf of course except when Brody and I fell asleep on the beach if you know you know but I always just forget to do sbf on my lips and there's nothing worse than having chapped lips I feel like if your lips are chapped your whole vibe is off well not like your whole vibe but you know there's nothing more irritating than chapped lips and like it's dry it's coming off you want to bite it ladies remember your sbf on your lips I forgot it this weekend and now my lips are chapped and it's ruining the whole vibe moving along to healthy recipes for the summer I love a summer salad I don't even know how to explain it there is nothing better than a summer salad and it just doesn't hit the same in the winter so as soon as it's nice enough out the warm weather comes around it is summer salad season one of my favorites is a sriracha chicken strawberry pineapple salad it is to die for I won't explain the whole thing to you right now I'll just link the recipe on the wellness cafe instagram stories when this goes live other than that honestly just any type of summer salad the watermelon salad that I shared if you didn't try it you need to it is amazing it is refreshing it is hydrating it is tasty it is delicious it is fun I don't know why I'm describing my summer salad is fun but it is what it is it is fun your food honestly should be fun healthy food does not have to be boring and the watermelon salad is very fun other ideas for dinner you know this in the summer I love a Greek style dish whether you're doing a wrap a salad or a bowl doing chicken to zikki pita tomatoes cucumber Greek dressing sundry tomatoes delicious also Brody and I have been making a lot of kebabs for my girlies on the go who don't have a lot of time so easy cut up some chicken breasts then I also do red peppers onion and mushroom but obviously the good thing about it is that you can do whatever vegetables you like or even meat I put some seasoning on it just like salt pepper red chili flakes throw it in the air fryer for 10 minutes and they're done it is so fast and it's a really nice summer dinner idea especially for when you're on a time crunch next up this salad actually is what my mom makes in the summertime and I just made it last weekend at home actually so it is arugula baby tomatoes avocado cucumber mini bok chinis balsamic glaze red chili peppers salt pepper lemon and olive oil and then actually if you pair that little arugula salad with kebabs there you go there's a healthy fun summer dinner that is fast delicious refreshing sorry I'm very energetic right now I don't know what's going on and I am very passionate about cooking in the summer something about it just hits different summertime is just amazing this is when we are meant to thrive we have so much energy there's so much fresh produce everything is in season you can cook in the sunshine you can barbecue outside you can have summer dinner parties with friends like the summer is when I thrive I'm going to put all these recipes on the wellness cafe Instagram so don't worry you don't need to write them down just you know start thinking get the inspo going summer salad summer dinner party season we freaking love to see it I'm really in an arugula stage I've been making a wrap every day for lunch with arugula just like a wrap some sliced like turkey chicken and then I do arugula tomatoes avocado ranch red chili flakes and I drizzle lemon on top of it it is the bomb okay now I'm answering the question that said what are we drinking this summer so you already know I love making a cocktail so making your own sangria at home is too die for I love doing a white sangria with peaches strawberries raspberries in it if you just go to Pinterest and google well not google but search up on Pinterest summer sangria recipes it is actually so easy to make your own sangria and it tastes delicious also for the Costco girlies mama mango from Costco is a classic it never goes out of style I feel like I always drink that when I go back to Edmonton that's what we drank when I was there a couple weekends ago on the patio there's nothing like popping open a little bottle of mama mango the sun is shining birds are chirping and it's a good freaking day I always opt for making drinks at home and like having people over to my place instead of going out to drink because also drinks are freaking expensive when you go out if I'm going out I'm always catching a happy hour it's just absurd to be paying $25 for one drink when it isn't happy hours so I always just love making cocktails at my place so you can host happy hour at your place that is the vibe for this summer but if I am going out this is what I have if I'm making cocktails at home too but I'm always ordering an apparel spritz a skinny marg an espresso martini or a tequila shot there's really no in between what a great transition hopping right in from what are we drinking to summer wellness favorites because balance baby a wellness favorite of mine right now that also is something fun for you to do if it's a rainy summer day or if all your friends are away or working when you have a day off and that is making homemade green juice I honestly don't really have a recipe I love throwing in carrots ginger lemon cucumber apple or it's even just a classic to do plain celery juice but juicing is so much fun it is such a it's so therapeutic to me because you go get the produce I did it one morning when the sun was shining in and there was like a summer breeze coming through the window it really was at my morning moment and green juice is so good for your skin because if we want to be glowing from the inside out we have to pack ourselves that full of nutrients antioxidants and nutritious whole foods so juicing is a great way to do that and on top of it it makes you feel good it makes your skin glowing and it also like I said is a fun activity if you find yourself not having something to do during the day put your favorite podcast on a YouTube video a good playlist that is happy and energetic and make yourself some fresh green juice then you have it prepped in the fridge for the mornings you can even do this Sunday night take a moment to yourself to juice and then you'll have it prepped in the fridge for every single morning of the week when you're going to work you can have a morning moment have your green juice do a morning gratitude journal and it's little things like that that obviously I mean you can juice in the winter but finding seasonal things that are going to help you romanticize each season like in the winter we had candlelit Pilates and that was a vibe and honestly I think that saved me from the seasonal depression this winter but finding little tiny small habits that help you romanticize each season that is special for that season whether you're going to work or going to summer school if you have these tiny little morning moments to yourself and have like a quote unquote day before your day to yourself full of feel good habits that help you romanticize the season you're going to feel good and you're going to have a great day you can have a hot curl summer working nine to five they're tiny little ways that you can embrace the season even if you are working full time because now that it's summer you can wake up earlier wake up with the sunshine it's already bright out enjoy your fresh green juice that you made for yourself do a morning journal and then head off to work or school whatever it may be but you still had a morning routine that romanticizes the summertime next up I shared this a while back but dry brushing right now I am really into having the softest skin in the planet I've made it my new mission so if you also are obsessed with having your skin silky smooth dry brushing is the way to go so picture this you do your morning routine you do a workout and then you come home before starting your day and then you are going to dry brush before getting in the shower then shower wash it all away use your favorite body wash get out of the shower and cover yourself in body oil I promise you you will have the softest skin you've ever had and not to mention dry brushing is also great for lymphatic drainage so picture it as like a wash off for your entire body that is also removing all your dead skin cells and leaving you with soft glowing hot curl summer skin you know you really don't have to do much you don't have to get on a flight and go on a crazy expensive trip to embrace the summer just finding these little things that really hit different in the summertime is what it is all about because like come on we're all wearing sweatsuits and sweaters and literal parkas in the winter time so it's not as important to have soft glowing skin like honestly how many times do I even shave my freaking legs in the winter slim to none sorry once again broed slim to none but in the summer obviously I want glowing soft smooth skin and you do too dry brushing is a great way to elevate that soft glowing summer skin that we all want next up summer wellness favorites is you all know this you already know exercising outdoors this can be rollerblading running stairs going for an extra long haul girl walk doing yoga in the park going for a run going for a bike ride exercising outdoors is not only a great benefit for your mental health but it is also free so if you always say to yourself that you cannot afford a gym membership take advantage of the summertime and get those fresh air workouts in nothing hits harder than working out outside and grab your friend grab your boyfriend grab your family your sister your brother whoever will do it with you and do a workout outside just try it once I promise you you will feel so rejuvenated and energized it honestly nothing hits like working out outside so I don't want to info overload I tried to choose my favorite wellness habits that I'm really loving right now that set me up for a productive day to feel my best and things that hit different in the summertime to help you romanticize your routine and make the most of this season while staying on your wellness routines okay moving along I had so many questions on how to get the perfect bikini line and my shaving routine so here's the thing I've mentioned this on this podcast and I will say it again the bikini lines that you are seeing on instagram are most likely because of waxing or laser or for the odd lucky blessed people out there they are just hairless and for that I will be forever envious but don't feel bad if you are looking at all these perfect bikini lines because also I forgot to mention hello photoshop hello face tune it really is unrealistic not unrealistic but what I'm trying to say is don't feel bad if your bikini line doesn't look perfect all the time if you are seeing someone who's always looks perfect there is a chance that they are just blessed with good hairless genetics but other than that a lot of the times people get lasered or waxed or photoshop it personally I always deal with a bad hairline so I have got it lasered and still it isn't perfect it never is it is normal to have ingrown hairs and bumps and hair on your bikini line for that reason I literally always have aftershave because there are things that can make it better and my favorite aftershave I've literally tried every single one I swear every single one the best one it comes in a blue bottle and it is called tend skin and they used to sell it at shoppers and I haven't seen it there for a while it comes in it's like a little blue liquid bottle or they have a roller ball I like the liquid better than the ball but the ball does work if you see it it is the best of the best so what I do with that is after you shave you dry your skin and then you put it on and then moisturize after and usually it helps bumps a lot also usually men's razors are better because I don't know women's razors just tend to be like really flimsy overall so if you struggle with your bikini line I would recommend investing in a good razor that has a lot of blades and usually men's are better I actually realized this from oh my goodness searing Brody so much this episode my razor broke and I was in dire need of a razor for the bikini line once so I stole Brody's razor and took it over and told him he had to get a new one because I was desperate so I tried it and then it was life changing so men's razor good shaving cream after bump solution also try not to shave every single day like that obviously is just going to create irritation but remember that everyone has hair it's normal everyone gets ingrowns and it's not realistic the people that are posting their perfect bikini lines most likely have taken other measures to get it to look that way so if yours doesn't look like that it just means your human we're all human and don't beat yourself up about it okay and then I also got a lot of questions on how to have summer body confidence and I have a ton of body confidence episodes from last summer that are really useful if you haven't listened to those I honestly don't think I can say it better myself now than I did then so I will link them in the show notes if you need to go reference them again or haven't listened I have some amazing episodes on body confidence and and also there was some hawker walk hangout episodes where you all were writing in your best tips on how to just feel confident in a bikini in the summer but I will share some new thoughts that I have right now and to summarize your reminders on how to be confident the summer one is that remember everyone is unique and that is what is beautiful so do not compare yourself to someone else because everyone is different and that is what makes you beautiful you sitting there and you know picking out what you like about someone else I've shared this so many times my friend who has smaller boobs than myself and whenever I get jealous and I wish I had her chest so I could wear cuter tops or cuter bikinis her and I will literally go back and forth for so long because she always wishes that she had a bigger chest and you know it's just like you always want what you don't have so at some point you just have to realize that you have the body that you have and really you can't change that and you don't need to because you are perfect and everyone you know everyone could always pick apart things they don't like about themselves or wish they had from someone else but your uniqueness and your body type and what makes you you is what makes you beautiful and unique and you don't want to just be like everyone else and also a really good reminder is that no one is paying attention to your body as much as you are so think of it like this when you go have a beach day with your friends and you are in your divine feminine energy you're excited to have a girly day with your friends are you thinking about their bodies no it is the last thing on your mind so you really just need to remember that is that you are the only one hyper fixating on your confidence and your body no one else is doing that because when you're with your friends are you thinking about their bodies no you're just thinking about how much fun you're having how much you love them just laughing together creating memories and enjoying the summer so next time that you are getting self conscious if you're out with your friends or at the beach tanning just remember and like trying like literally internalize this and take deep breaths and say to yourself no one is thinking about this I am the only one noticing these things because we all notice things about ourselves way more than others do anyway if there is one thing that I wish I could fix and I could cure from all of you would be that you're able to love yourself no matter what shape and form that comes in because it is just it's really not fair and you shouldn't be mad at yourself if you're ever feeling like you weren't good enough in the summertime or feeling self-conscious in a bikini you should be mad at society for wiring your brain to think that there is something wrong with your body for just being human and normal because I promise you everyone has cellulite everyone has stretch marks everyone has body hair everyone has rolls somewhere and that is fine that is normal that means you are beautiful and that means you are human and honestly I would highly recommend on following people who make you feel unconfident if that's coming from social media because I swear every single time every single time honestly I open my phone I am made aware of some new part of my body that I should dislike and that I should fix because remember this also if people are trying to I should say that often times people are using your insecurities against you to profit for example on social media just this past week I have been made aware of getting Botox in your traps because they get too big from working out so as I enter my gym era I've been looking up more gym workout TikToks gym routines stuff like that so I have also stumbled onto the very negative side of gym TikTok and girls are talking about their traps getting too big from working out or RDLs and that you should get Botox in your traps and the origin of that must have come from companies and Botox clinics wanting to profit off of making you insecure of your traps because I literally was unaware of my traps until I came across this TikTok and you know what I do now I click on it I hold it down and I say not interested I literally can remember the day that I was made aware what hip dips were from social media and a clinic that I follow in Vancouver for facials posted that they're now offering a hip dip removal something I don't even know injections or I can't tell you what it was but some new treatment for hip dips and it's like holy shit why why are we trying to make women insecure about every single part of their body so that is what I mean when I mean that you should be mad at society instead of your body because your body is beautiful the way it is and I wanted to share those examples of what I had seen on social media recently to remind you that when you come across stuff like this because I know it's inevitable with this day and age on social media that you will come across posts like this remember that you know like if they're telling you to get Botox for your traps or if they're telling you to get a procedure for your hip dips that is people trying to make you insecure of normal human body parts to profit off of you which is that fucked up and not fair but being cognizant of that and being aware of that will make you just be like okay well you're not targeting me today you're not making me insecure today and you can just keep and you can just keep scrolling instead of thinking that you need Botox in your traps and the one thing I'm sorry I'm sorry if you've heard this a million times I'm honestly never going to stop sharing it the one thing that helped me the most with my confidence is who can recite this with me by now when you find yourself negative self-talking I want you to say out loud I take it back and replace it with something that you like about yourself it may seem silly and I don't care if you think it's silly just humor me and do it and see what happens because it is scientifically proven that you can rewire your brain and your thought pattern and as I have just talked about society has programmed us to dislike our bodies and pick apart the parts that we dislike about them however you can change that thought pattern and even if you think it silly humor me just give it a try because I promise you it isn't going to happen overnight and it isn't a quick fix but like anything you don't expect to see progress in the gym quickly you can't see progress in your thought patterns quickly and I don't want to give you unrealistic expectations it will take a while I don't know how long it took but somewhere along the line I stopped having to take things back and it was my new thought pattern to talk nicer about myself and that really is the number one thing that has helped me the most because we aren't born disliking our bodies that is taught to us somewhere somehow through social media through TV and movies it is taught to us somehow jeez even when I tried to do a fun girlie pop hangout face time episode it always ends up getting deep but seriously Brody and I have been rewatching pretty little liars because there is something very important from it that he needed to see that's all I can say um I was rewatching it and the show I watched in like junior higher high school it was coming out and I loved pretty little liars and looking back at it now literally no wonder I had such a messed up perception of my body and my relationship with food when I was growing up and looking back now it is nice to see that we have made progress in society because I was shocked to see how they were talking about food and the amount of times that they made comments of like oh you can't eat that Spencer's mom walked into the kitchen and Spencer offered her a muffin and she was like no I'm not going to be sad and fat and I was shocked Brody and I have honestly looked at each other multiple times rewatching this show at the fucked up things they say in relation to food and like alley bats a muffin out of hand as hand and it's like don't worry I'm just helping you it's for your own good no wonder I had a messed up relationship with food and no wonder so many of us do because it has been wired in our brains and we've been taught to have negative relationships with food and with our bodies and not thinking we're good enough so it has been taught to us which is the good thing and the good reminder that you can unlearn anything you want and rewire those negative thought patterns anyway this episode will be super long if I go all the way into it right now which trust me I could but I'm going to link the really good body confidence episodes that are basically all about that in the show notes if you need some extra body confidence reminders but just remember this I love you you are perfect the way you are everybody is a summer body you deserve to wear that bikini and go have fun with your friends trust me it is not worth it to spend time disliking yourself however I say that as we go to the next question because it still wraps in with body confidence and the next question that I received on the Wellness Cafe Instagram story was how do I stop comparing myself to myself a year ago I feel way less confident now and I knew immediately that I had to include this in today's episode because that hit home for me I have really been struggling with the whole SIBO what bloating thing that's why this episode was late again because I'm on so many antibiotics for the SIBO and I just like my body doesn't feel good at all which is ironic because this summer I have been so focused on my routines and my wellness and eating healthy and going to bed early and doing all the things and I was way more confident and comfortable in my body last summer and there are physical changes like it's just a fact that the clothes that I wore last summer don't fit me now and I'm having a hard time with that and it's ironic because last summer I literally was just for the girls having so much fun with my friends cherishing every moment that I had in making memories and wellness wasn't my top priority and it's just so funny now because wellness is my top priority right now and I'm feeling really good in my habits and routines and I'm just at a really good place with my lifestyle and it's just I think that's what makes me the most frustrated is that I was more confident last summer and that is ironic and actually Rachel and I were joking today on FaceTime because we're going to the stampede and she was like how's your SIBO and Rachel freaking fractured her ankle and I was like it hurts how's your fractured ankle and then we started laughing and we were like wait a second are we being punished for being so feral last summer that now we like we're being punished so anyway all jokes aside I can totally relate to this but the things that helped me through this are this summer I like I said we drove down to the Okanagan and we were having boat days going in our bikinis and it's been it's honestly been really hard for me and that's why I've also been quiet on Instagram stories because I've really just been trying to focus on my wellness and feeling good and getting my body happy and healthy so I've been really disciplined with my routines and they make me feel good because without my routines right now I honestly don't know like how I would be feeling they are the only things like they are the tools keeping my mental health in check right now and keeping me afloat because without them things would probably not be very good so I'm happy that I have those tools to fall back on when I am struggling with body confidence and not feeling good but my thought process right now is honestly I'm not kidding when I say that my stomach is so bloated and painful all the time 24-7 I basically just live in my biker shorts and sweat shorts like stretchy things jeans are jeans shorts are not a freaking option right now but what's been helping me deal with that that may help you too is I just know and I'm aware and I have accepted that everything ebbs and flows this summer I'm dealing with stebo bloating issues and my hormone health and I'm trying to get that in check last summer I was super confident I had the best time ever I had such a hot girl summer there was little to no negative self talk happening and then the summer before that I had covid and I had gained weight from covid because I was unable to like work out or move or honestly breathe for the matter of fact and it just made me realize that everything ebbs and flows and throughout the past three summers that I've just explained they have all been so different but the one thing that's ironic is that my lifestyle hasn't changed that much and sometimes shit is just not going to go how you want it and there's going to be highs there's going to be lows and I've gotten to a point where I'm doing my healthy habits I'm eating healthy I take care of myself I take care of my mental health I'm doing what I can and there's no point wasting time upset with what I look like and I just honestly I'm just kind of at a place where it's like I know that I'm taking care of myself I am trying my best and your best is always enough so that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to enjoy your summer because like I've been doing this for six years and this podcast for three years you have heard me go through so many ups and downs and with your body image with things going your way with bad things happening in your life like that is just life things are going to go up and down not even just your body confidence honestly everything like your relationships sometimes your friendships are all super strong and healthy and sometimes they're lacking sometimes work is really good and then it's then it's really bad sometimes you're super on top of your cleaning routines and then sometimes you let your apartment get messy like everything ebbs and flows nothing can be perfect all the time and I've gotten to a point and what helps me through this is just realizing that I am human I am trying my best and that's enough so if you're trying your best that is enough you deserve to love yourself you deserve to have fun in the summer so what maybe you were more confident last summer so what you know like what are you going to do it is the summer right now and it's not fair that you should have to not enjoy it as much as you can because you felt more confident last summer like yeah life goes through phases we go through ups and downs things are going to change and that's just a part of life nothing is stagnant nothing is perfect 100% of the time and truly the highs that would not be as good without the lows and they just make you appreciate those times way more and also I just want to say thank you for sticking with me because I know that episodes have been lately and I haven't been posting that much on stories because I am really trying to prioritize my wellness and just getting back on track and it has been like a battle not saying everything is always 100% and I just appreciate you for still showing up for me and just loving me even though I'm human and you know you always stick with me through the highs and lows and it's really funny because honestly I may seem like a basket case that always has all these problems and then I have good times and high times low times high times but honestly who doesn't we are human and I have just dedicated and decided that I'm sharing all the freaking highs and lows with you anyway I think I'm going
